In my 73 plus years on Earth One, I have never seen our Democracy in such peril. Many of you my age and older, remember the mid-sixties when our cities were burning down in order that a certain group of citizens be granted their constitutional right to vote. In the latter sixties, we experienced daily protests and hundreds of bombings across the nation protesting the Vietnam war, one of those bombings nearly leveled the four story math building at the University of Wisconsin. During that era many felt democracy was in a free fall and on the precipice of failure. Those opposing the administration during this era, were fighting to establish a right, the right to vote, inherent in their endowed title of United States citizen. The nearly daily Vietnam protests on our college campuses and streets, just like the movement led by Martin Luther King and those civil rights leaders before him, were an awakening call to the government that this nation is made up of “We the people.” Now we’re here fighting injustice not from the citizenry asking their government to perform its duties in a lawful and constitutional manner but to fight an imperialistic autocratic regime that seeks to undermine our Fore-fathers ideals. Never in my 73+ years have we witnessed a despotic regime bent on violating the constitutional rights of its citizens and immigrants lawfully sanctioned to reside in the United States. If the Trump administration could FACILITATE the removal of Kilmar Abrego Garcia and hundreds of others like him, the administration can FACILITATE their return and afford them due process of the law which they are Constitutionally guaranteed. Never in my 73+ years have I witnessed an administration totally neglect Federal and Supreme Court orders which by definition these violations are high crimes and therefore impeachable acts. The Trump gestapo is retaliating against those who oppose this administration (and I must say, I am appalled at the universities and law firms that have bowed to Herr Trump’s will). Never in my 73+ years have I witnessed an administration that had a playbook, project 2025, that was written in order to destroy America and Her values. How unpatriotic and despotic is that! But all this playbook has done is to sow confusion amongst the public and businesses and contempt for our Constitution. Never in my 73+ years have I witnessed a government bent on destroying ours and the world’s economies. I majored in economics and there is a law in economics – now this is a law which there are very few of in economics – the Law of Comparative Advantage. What it states simply is that one country has an economic advantage over another country. By that I mean, look at the coffee industry. Colombia has the right climate to grow the coffee bean whereas America does not. But America can produce computers which Colombia does not have the ability to do. We trade for their coffees, and they buy our computers. Our lots in life are both improved due to this trade. In other words, each country is made better because of this favorable trade. Tariff wars, if allowed to be waged, only increase prices on a continual basis and not the short term as this administration would have you believe. The wholesaler passes the tariffs onto the retailer. The retailer passes it onto the consumer. The consumer works to earn an income in order to buy the goods and services needed to survive. But what happens then, the worker says to the business owner, “I need a raise,” in order to pay the cost of living increases caused by these tariffs. If granted, the employer/manufacturer has to again, raise prices to the end user. This cycle is never ending. The other downfall and more likely one to occur, is that consumption could go down enough (in economics it’s called the marginal propensity to consume) that employers have to lay off workers further aggravating consumption and slowing the economy. This too can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. We must stay as vigilant and fervent in our democratic ideals as our patriotic heroes did which began July 4, 1776. His attention span is short. He doesn’t know much about world history or world affairs. He actually doesn’t think they matter very much. He thinks his personal relationships with foreign leaders, especially the authoritarian ones, are all that matter. "Well, I think the hard men of history, like Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, understand what their job is for their respective country. I don’t think Trump understands what the job of the presidency is for ours. And I will say, having been in the room with him in meeting those people, having listened in on his phone conversations, I don’t think they are really friendly with Donald Trump. I think they think, Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong-un and others, they think he’s a laughing fool. And they’re fully prepared to take advantage of him. Trump’s self-absorption makes it impossible for him to understand that, I think they believe he’s an easy mark.”

The very idea of kicking healthy people off of insurance is stupid af. Like, first off, they're healthy, they're not costing you anything other than a yearly check up. Secondly, if you get something looked at as soon as you start having symptoms it's a lot less costly than waiting until it requires major issues.
