She lives on a hill overlooking the sea,
With only her dogs for good company,
She doesn't need less, she doesn't need more,
Just the sounds of the waves crashing into the shore.

One of the best conducted video tours of a house that I've seen on Youtube. The host was very well prepared and made important comments throughout the tour that made it more than the "usual wright commentary" that comes with less capable presenters. This has always been one of my favorite Wright houses and I hope to visit it some day in the future.

I've had the good fortune to tour FLW homes all over the country, and I have to say that this was one of the most informative tours I've ever had! Mr. Henderson not only gives detailed explanations of the architectural features, but injects occasional entertaining anecdotes that definitely augment his presentation. I particularly liked the one about the height of the showerhead accommodating the female client's salon-styled hair - brilliant! And that sunken garbage can with a rock on its lid was wonderful. A spectacular setting and a truly beautiful house. Thank you!

Architect here. Thank You for a wonderful, non-pretentious presentation. 'Thanks Frank." Cracked me up.

@tombrewsaugh1399

What a wonderful house to have grown up with and to still have it owned by the original family. Thanks for letting us in.

@joelrunyan1608

My new favorite frank Lloyd Wright house. Wow.

@08elk1954

This presentation/tour was so very well done. It made the house come alive as a residence, not just another FLW “museum.” Love the sense of Della’s personality.

@sevensages5279

The house recently sold for $22m. Frank is still one of the greatest Architects ever!

@lauriewarner4848

Love the Japanese glass fishing ball story. I never knew they were wild and collected. Bravo.

@laurawells3132

I lived in Carmel for 36 years and walked by this house many times. Thank you for such a thoughtful and interesting tour of this stunning home!

@kitbram2033

How wonderful to have this from the great grandson who is so articulate and caring. I love that the house stayed in the family so long. Sounds like a great family at that! Hopefully the new owner continues a wonderful stewardship.

@TheresaWeinheimer-dm7zi

As an architect I want to compliment your tour presentation. It’s such a delight to see and hear a presentation devoid of the usual pompous architectural curators. My Uncle Mirko’s was invited to be a fellow at Taliesin in the late 40’s. Again, thank you.

@ausgang9495

That last shot of the sun reflecting off the glass, simply stunning.

Perfection is just an Idealistic Concept but Frank never stopped trying to reach it.
His homes are not just iconic they are true treasures.

@teriadams7398

How special to still have a Frank Lloyd Wright original built home passed down in a family. Amazing architect, with design that has never gone out of style.😊

@VeronicaThompson-k7t

A unique design for a specific layout and a specific purpose; you can’t repurpose any of F.L.Wright’s designs. A family home is either very private, small & intimate or a large, inviting guests to join. “The contents dictate the form” and the fireplace area was always a pinnacle of the F.L. Wright’s design. We’re grateful to the Mrs. D. Clinton Walker’s family for preserving and sharing with the public this architectural masterpiece!🙏

Can I just get a round of o7 for the heroic tradesmen who actually built this madness?

@jeffstull2534

Giving your trash man a 'nice Christmas present' is a family tradition for my wife and I. Our trash man here in the countryside of Central Texas has been very accommodating especially when we moved back to this old family farm in 2020 and he took away all that we piled up by the one trash bin. It is very satisfying to share what we have with others.

@thesongbird2383

For 40 years, I lived north of Carmel on the San Francisco Peninsula. We visited Carmel often, so this video tour is a real treat... and very well presented. It must have been a joy to have your family own a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright! Thank you, Chuck!

@nazarene5680

I love it. Frank Lloyd Wright is one of my favourite architects.
