An interesting fact is that all these apps look and feel much worse than Things 3. The only two drawbacks of Things 3 are the lack of Windows/Android support and no collaboration features. If these don't bother you, go for Things 3 and enjoy the aesthetics.
I’ve found Sorted3 close to the perfect task planner. It integrates seamlessly with calendars, allows start times and durations, and the auto-schedule works well. My only wish is for a week-to-view. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s has customer support any longer. Still overall, still the best. Things 3 doesn’t let you set durations or start and finish times, as far as I know?
it was with a heavy heart that I’ve finally relented and started to move elsewhere. Tried a few on your list (including Todoist which was not listed…that’s OK), but see one or two that I haven’t tried but will. The issue wasn’t just about Things being beautiful, but it was calendar views, attachments, simple upgrades that seem standard on so many new apps these days. Still bummed that Things3 prefers to do nothing. Maybe they don’t know how??? Weird!
I used to love things 3 but man they’ve had no revamp in over 5 years which is insane.
Todoist also works in Linux for those of a different mind set. :-)
It’s true. Things 3 today is prehistoric app: no attachments, no web app, no natural language input, no location based reminders, not properly updated for years. Also developers are like NPCs replying nonsense like robots.
I thought the app os shutting down 🤬 worst clickbait ever
