Listen. I don't mind if NVIDIA and AMD make lower VRAM versions of certain cards, since esports is a valid majority of actual gaming and it genuinely doesn't need more than 8GB. If I was doing a startup internet café or whatever for esports games I'd 100% buy some of these to save on expenses! If I was building a rig for someone who only plays Valorant, League, CS, all for it. But - my issue is the marketing of these cards and it being misleading for customers who do play AAA titles thinking that the cheaper card with the same name will work the same. This is not okay! Name it something different. 9060XT for 16GB, 9060EX for 8GB, whatever! Just make it different marketing, it's unacceptable otherwise.
A literal 1070 had 8gb of vram...
Thats a wild start to this video
I hope people realize how good Intel Arc has become, the cards are basically the best value on the market if youre looking for budget/midrange. They've fixed 99% of the driver issues they had during the Alchemist launch, and are now absolutely worth buying. Nvidia has completely abandoned budget buyers and both AMD and Nvidia keep neutering their cheaper offerings, basically shoveling you their trash since its been a duopoly for so long. Ironically Intel is the savior we need for GPUs, people just need to support them.
I was really hoping for them to release the b770.
Why the hell is AMD 8-gig'ing after seeing team green shit the bed?
8Gb cards are for system builders from Dell to your local shop to make prebuilts that have the XT or Ti name on the box but have the cheaper card to make more money for people who know no better. The cards won't play well long term so will need replacing sooner making the system integrators and the GPU manufacturers more money. again.
MSRP of $349 means the actual price will be like $599
“Can I play devil’s advocate for a moment here?” “………no” Died 😂
Modded Skyrim would destroy 8GB of VRAM at 1080p
Nice to see Linus using some of his levers to put pressure on Intel and their pricing. If they end up doing it or not it's nice to know he got in their face about it.
6:19 I've been using the A770 16GB for 2.5 years and don't regret my choice whatsover, this GPU is aging like fine wine. If your motherboard didn't support REBAR in 2022/23, I don't know what to tell ya other than it was time to upgrade.
Please test the new AMD vs the intel b580 12gb, they are in same price bracket I'd love to see a vs of them.
It's ALL about price guys and galls... we are not talking about performance. We are talking about performance for price. Period.
Good on Linus for calling out bogus MSRP's. It's insane how many cards that should be $300 are $500 new.
Dude I was desperate for a Arc B770 announcement at computex, Im really sad Intel chicken out of the domestic consumer market.
2:05 There is an audio glitch where it becomes desynced. it only goes until 3:55.
Even in the age of inflation and $15 minimum wages, $300 is a lot of freakin money for an "entry level" graphics card... The 9060 XT 16gb only seems like a good deal at $350 because of how piss poor team green has been with the 5000 series..
