I worked with a guy from Romania. He said he was a kid in grade school at this time and Ceausescu and wife came to visit the school. All the kids were lined up along the gravel driveway entering the school grounds and were told to salute the dictator as his big black limo rolled by. Instead they quietly picked up a handful of gravel and at the moment the teacher called out "salute" the kids pelted the limo with the gravel. The limo drivers are trained to hit the gas and get out of the area at the sign of any disturbance so that's what he did, the visit was over, and the kids never heard a word about it.

Who provided thiis stupid commentary? Lots if abuse of power happened, trafic of influence happened, scarcity of food was agravated by the mass histeria and abuses of distribution personnell, huge stupid projects as people's house, extension of arable land over marshes/flooded areas of Danube south of Bucharest and west of Dobrogea, working condtions in institutions which encouraged rampant functional absenteism and ineficiency. However one cannot deny the huge investment in affordable housing, various industries and energy, irigation, roads, culture, sports, free and quality education including graduate studies and health care, free or low cost children camps and medical sanatoriums. I must reject for lack of evidence the following: people suffered of malnutrition, people got frost bite or died because of heating restrictions, people felt a permanent surveilance of secret police, victims in Timișoara, executions - except the asassination of Ceaușșescu couple by his 'comrades'. The overall immage preseted in this documentary is so distorted that I would call it a piece of useless propaganda. Who needs this?
