@LOVEMUFFIN_official

I love how Maverick “teaches” Hangman. He doesn’t just beat him, he does it in a way that reinforces why his earlier behavior was wrong. Love this movie so much.

@ossian1977

"That's a lot of pushups..." smirking, knowing he is not going to do a single one.

@stevis8264

I'm a former F-4 and F-16 pilot. Some of what you see here isn't the way it's really done but this is still a kick-ass scene for me. The aerial film work is incredible. When I saw it in theater, without realizing it I caught myself doing the muscle work that a fighter pilot does to counter the gs that you see the taking place on the screen. It was great work on the part of those who made the movie.

@dano3523

"I'm dead, dickhead." "See you in the afterlife, Bagman." That was too funny and had the legit military banter to it. Also liked how they did the Phoenix character. Great movie.

@spyker603

The movie has both classic and modern cinematic feel to it. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

@adblefty

Maverick entering was a throwback of when Charlie first entered in Top Gun

@Conchobahr_10

No scene in any movie has made me feel like I was right there in the moment like this movie did. Literally felt my heart sink down to my stomach as soon as Maverick flew right up between the two fighter jets. One of the best movie theatre experiences ever.

@peterfrank3365

Bob's father also had legendary exploits. Not only he had experience in Desert Storm, he was part of the squadron that fought alien invasion while serving as the President.

@tonyfelder1206

This movie was worth the long long wait.

@godofunity2612

As mentioned in a quote-on-quote 'official video' with this scene, it's worth noting that Rooster was already putting on his mask the moment Maverick said today's lesson is 'Dogfighting'. Guy already knew he was the real deal, the others would learn that the hard way.

Edit: For whatever it's worth, thanks for the almost 3K Likes. :)

@ethanloming001

The look on Hangman's face when he realised he just wronged the wrong man at the bar 😂😂😂

@Lesevesel

Hondo:  "And we're off."
Yup.

@handsomesquidward5160

I know it's training but I love how Rooster hypothetically gave his life to save his wingman

@alphamaledriveshard

5:55 "Leaving your Wingman. There's a strategy I haven't seen in a while." Haha. This line carries weight. For those who don't remember, in the first movie, Maverick leaves his Wingman during training to go after a target. You can see that Hangman is a reincarnation of Maverick in spirit. This is reaffirmed when the song gets subtly louder as Hangman chases Maverick into the sun. Daltery's lyrics "Meet the new boss...... Same as the old boss...." hits us perfectly. This movie surprised me. It's well thought out and beautifully edited. I can't really say the same about the first one. It was a fun summer action movie at best.

@ejtamayo5317

I love all the callbacks maverick makes throughout this sequence. My favorite of them all is when he says "leaving your wingman, there's a strategy I haven't seen in a while" classic maverick. I also love how rooster prepares before everyone else does, this is because he knows how unpredictable mav can be

@ARodatorium

Maverick walking after Rooster and calling him Bradley, then exasperatingly going with Lieutenant Bradshaw…wrecked me. You can tell Mav has been in his life the whole time, but something is broken, and resorting to essentially ‘pulling rank’ on him hurt bad.

@dontyouworryaboutit_

For anyone that didn’t know, “knock it off” wasn’t just slang, that’s the term for ceasing any sort of training exercise at once and returning to a safe area. This movie was excellent

@siddharthbahuguna3525

The way Cruise paid tribute to Iceman by having Hangman save them.... It's phenomenal. The respect for the generation. Respect that.

@glst1974

I'm so glad this movie was so well received. Tom Cruise is an icon(we all know this) but even with his Mission Impossible series, he never hit such heights in the box office till coming back to being Maverick again. Love this movie, thank you Tom.

@Davechow12

I like how Hondo is thoroughly enjoying himself while having those officers do push-ups.
