🚨 UPDATE 2 🚨

I'm seeing A LOT of comments which are overly positive.
Unfortunately, I see many of them on negative Even Realities videos.

Please take everything they say with a grain of salt, they might be bought/bots.
I am very suspicious of them, and so should you.

— Rob

P.S. I strongly encourage you to look up other, unsponsored reviews about this product.
Every positive review on YouTube I've seen is either sponsored, gifted, or in some way related to the company.

@brettlaxton-katyhatco

I realize I am probably not the norm. I bought these because I am deaf. For the hearing impaired and deaf community these are a game changer. To be able to look people in the eye while they are talking is nothing short of incredible.

I could get why for normal hearing person these glasses could frustrate you. But ER is rolling out updates so quick and now with open source I believe improvements are going to be even quicker and better. I did a 24hr review mainly reviewing the translate feature. When using English to English they work just like a transcriber.

@EvenRealities

Hi Robin, thank you for your feedback. We're committed to enhancing G1's user experience, including customization options. Stay tuned for future updates.

@Turbopong99

I love the fact that these glasses are an aid to cell phones and not replacing it. Not over burdened with features but a pair of glasses for people like me who are shortsighted and just need a simple dashboard for just the info I most need.

@SolisEmi

G1 has its quirks, and yes it’s not perfect, but I really feel like ER is serious about improving it. Like when my G1 won't adjust head up angle easily (saw some folks mentioning it on Reddit too), ER pretty quickly added more flexibility with a software update. Knowing they’re listening makes it easier to overlook the usual first-gen issues, cause it feels like it’s only gonna get better from here.

@dafoex

I think these are fine, personally. I'd rather touch my glasses and signal to the world that I'm using a microphone than to have an always-on microphone and camera linked back to Facebook of all companies. I do agree on the point about a widget store, though; these are a HUD, not a phone, but having more streams of information optionally available to you can only be a good thing when your product's only function is showing you timely information. I don't need a camera on my head for 99% of tasks, my phone one is better. I don't need audio really, either, as my earbuds get the job done. Over the ear headphones are uncomfortable no matter what glasses I wear, so I hardly think battery pods would make a difference to me, but if you're ordinarily unbothered by that then maybe that's a problem for you. Honestly I think these are the first smart glasses I've seen that are better than Google Glass, and that's saying something.

@silvrsurfer

Hey bro, you might be pushing your Bluetooth connection to its limit 😂

@rjmminis

You say that it doesn't "do much", but to me the things that it does do are the most important things that can be done. The "subtitle" style translation tool is game changing

@aaron4820

Kinda sad to see genuinely exciting new tech getting crapped on in the title for clickbait reasons

@Hjenkinsfsh

These are by far the best looking smart glasses in the market. These can be improved by software. They have the hardware to address most of the issues you mentioned. The substance is in the capabilities of the software. These are 1st gen. Give it a little more time to mature.😊

@Fusion-m6d

It seems like they're on the right track, at least. Incorporating some bone conduction headphones would be killer. I really hope they come up with another iteration rapidly. If they fix the UX issues and add headphones they'd be a definite buy.

@islamyutube

Thanks for the quick review, ive just ordered the g1 and ive been using the meta Rayban for the last 8 months as my prescription glasses.. my only problem with rayban is battery life as its my main prescription glasses, it's dead in less than 4 hours with calls and speakers and i cant charge them as i need them on my eyes.. my thoughts is that g1 is a great version 1 product from a startup that could replace many aspects of smart watch (except fitness/health) with durable battery life.. with the rayban, I always relying on earbuds for music and calls.. so basically i dont use them except on some occasional photos.. I think g1 and smart ring would be my main wearable in the near future.. Totally agree with you that they are pure expensive.. but again, I've paid $300 for meta Ray-Ban and I'm almost using them as a pair of regular prescription glasses.. Thanks again for the different inputs in your review..

@LofiWurld

This is good - touch and hold is gooood - there are big privacy concerns already with smart glasses, as much manual feedback as necessary to trigger functionality is fine!!!!!! Please don’t change this

@ShutterBork

I’m using g1 now, though I did check out rayban before buying. The built-in camera on rayban raises too much privacy concerns for me, since I need to wear glasses all the time and cannot take them off on demand.

@mikewgagne

Nice vidéo but on the other side 90% of these issues can be updated by software update and remember this is one of the first version of the software and meta rayban DOSENT HAVE SCEENS and rhis cannot be solved via an update!!!

@viktor4gub

Hey Rob. Quick question, does the teleprompter work inside? I am looking to use these for presentations. On Stage.

@jamessmooth0076

Fantastic review. Kind of amazing that I watched like 10 other “reviews” for these things and I learned way more from yours than others. All but one were sponsored 🤔
I appreciate your blunt honesty. I was very interested in these until you said there’s not a whole lot they can do, which was my fear. Great looking, cool tech, not much usability. Darn.

Edit: I’m surprised how many people are defending these by saying how great they COULD be. You reviewed what you had. It is what it is.

@dbyun

Keep in mind that G1 will be amazing for people with disabilities especially with hearing loss. Rayban doesn’t do anything for us yet. If rayban can combine with G1 and meta, then it will be a perfect glasses

@Infamy_TCG

I’d be interested if you could scan peoples power levels.

@LeesReviews69

I ordered these a month ago. As a nurse I hope to have timed reminders and quick notes that are dependable. And I hope AI can help too.
