Oh Lord, I thank you for bringing me, your prodigal son home again. Though I wandered far from You, yet you looked on me with compassion and brought me to my senses, that I would come home again. And when I was still a far way off, you ran to me and kissed me and clothed me in your Son's righteousness and restored me to the joy of my salvation. Oh God, my Father, you are to be blessed by all generations! Lord God, there is another prodigal out there tonight. She has lost her way, and no longer remembers who she is. She is scared and confused and is seeking answers in all the wrong places. God, my Father, have compassion on her - for her father's sake who has served you so faithfully all these years. You know full well how obedient her father is, and how he has helped me and strengthened me over the years. Indeed, what kind of man would I be without him? Yet his daughter is lost. Please hear this plea oh God, and do not turn your face from us - but rescue her from that far country, bring her back to her senses and bid her return to You and to her father's arms once again. Please do not let her wander long down that road and accumulate shame that she will have to carry the rest of her life. Please, be merciful. Please, be gracious, as you were with your servant Israel in their rebellion. Whatever favor I have found in your eyes, please regard it and have mercy on her soul. Please God. Please. The pain is too much for me to bear...how much more for her father! Have mercy on him also, and comfort him in this time of grief - for she has died - but love is as strong as death - and you, oh God, are Love. Raise her from this death, open her eyes to see you, and bring her home. This is my most earnest prayer with all of my heart, mind, and strength. May you who are able to do more than I could ever hope or imagine, may you be crowned with honor and praise forevermore. In Jesus name, Amen.
