I swear to god this nutcase puts out 25 hours of content a day. Keep up the good work factboy
They say that Simon does not require sleep. Instead, he starts a new channel and that feeds his soul.
As a brit I find it hard to imagine a plague island off europe full of insane people unable to simply leave for the mainland.
Has Simon even mentioned this channel on his existing ones? I haven't heard of it yet, but nearly 13K subs after 2 weeks and 4 videos. The algorithm is doing well here.
Any day there’s a new Whistler channel discovered is a good day.
I feel like I find a new channel of yours almost weekly. Like a youtube Easter egg hunt.
I've been there, it's a bautiful haunting (but definitely not haunted) place where you can take stunning pictures of nature reclaiming the decaying buildings. Mint bushels and cranberries grow on top of destroyed floors and rotting wood, and the air is fragrant with mint.
I've always been fascinated with the island of Poveglia since I saw one of those stupid ghost hunting shows in the in the early 2000s. I'm glad to have the record set straight in my mind. Thanks!
What an amazing phrase: "Alleged historical facts".
This is exactly the kind of very interesting history that we didn't get in school. I love Italy, and thankfully had the pleasure of going to Rome and Florence in August 1990. This is one of my favorite YT channels. Thank you.
It's very unusual when this happens, but I like it when Simon makes videos about things I've never heard of, and I've never heard of this place, somehow.
I’ve stayed on Isola di san Clemente. Lovely hotel and beautiful island. Amazing staff. No ghosts. Would visit again.
Damn it, ever since I've listened to Simon's cold reads I can't go back to his normal videos 😂😭 love the cold read vibe
Venice is amazing. I recommend you go in the down season. Crowds are mild during the day, and you pretty much get the city to yourself at night. Enjoy the mostly empty restaurants and very desperate shopkeepers. No clubbing, no traffic, it's amazing. It's close enough to the mainland if you want an excursion.
I wrote a novel based on Poveglia's legends. The research on it exposed the myth around it but at face value, it's still an intriguing urban legend.
Simon brought us here to this amazing place with his carefully researched, detailed history and I agree, the island doesn’t seem so terrible. Just the opposite, it looks awesome! In fact I would like to take Simon and all his followers on a kayak tour around the island, stop for a picnic, take a hike and what the hell, go skinny dipping before a sunset paddle back. Not so scary.
I swear I find a new channel with this guy every day
I can’t tell you how GREATLY appreciative I am to have this competent, articulate ACTUAL human narrating instead of AI . Thank you Simon for your continuing contributions to our knowledge and understanding. 🙏🏻✨
When I was living in Venice in 1982. I was begging for a living and often in conflict with the local law force's. It was not uncommon for the police to pick us up and give us a kicking and then take us by boat to this or a smaller island and maroon us there. One had to either swim to the lido or try to hail a passing boat to get back to Venice centre. I never stayed long enough to find out if the police ever returned to check up on the people they marooned there. Thanks for bringing back memories of my youth.
