Is anyone listening?😢
I'm fortunate to have seen the original AWB perform live as well as various line up changes over the years and I've always been enchanted by all their performances. Their music is timeless.
AWB was the Funkyest band in the 70's. There Groove was amazing. Real Soul music has no color it just com s from the Soul. I remember Grooving hard on this song with a Beautiful woman and Grooving until the Sun came up.
I bought AWB's first album "Show Your Hand" and I didn't find anything average about these guys. I continue to play their music to this day. Great band.
Does not get any better than this!! I remember when this song debut and the entire SOUL SEARCHING album hit the airwaves and it was a completely differently SLOW SOULFUL GROOVE!! Thank you AWB and HAMISH & Alan!!
First saw them at the Edinburgh Odeon in 1974 - and never missed a single AWB concert after that, right up until last year, their farewell tour !. And they were just as brilliant in 2024.as they were in 1974 !. Best concert band - ever !. Many, many thanks Alan Gorrie et Al - 50 wonderful years of fantastic night's !
Molly Duncan RIP, the Average White Band has retired but not forgotten. One of the top 10 funk bands
just how cool are awb, my countrymen, what joy, the soul kings of the uk, and no mistake, and I acknowledge all the great soul/funk bands in the uk, bit none of them come close.Hamish and and alan had the perfect foil/tone, the dundee horns, what a delight, steve on drums , superb, and ofcourse roger with his keyboard and sax perfection, no band comes close.
One of the greatest bands ever. Smoothing out here in southern Tasmania
Love this song I remember it when I was a little girl still sounds good today y'all Jammed this one.
Beautiful Sarah, yes, I agree it is a painful but deep expression of humanity and how love lasts until the end. It can make you cry if you listen to it in a moment when you are feeling vulnerable. And it can lift your spirits when you are experiencing moments of great joy. This piece has special power! Love your reactions…always ❤
First saw them at the Odeon in Edinburgh 1974 and saw them on their farewell tour last year at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh - in between those 50 years I never missed one concert of theirs and as always, Fred Vigdor's sax-silos were (for me.!) the highlight ! Can't believe I won't see them again - I know, I'm greedy, but a AWB concert is just out of this world.!
This 1 of my all time favorite joints… that horn section is on 1000 🔥💪🏾
Blue-eyed soul for real❤❤❤❤❤
The Person to Person World tour was off the chain , when they came to Atlanta Civic center I caught this great band twice!
An awesome band.......Gone but never forgotten, The majesty of 2 voices that has never been duplicated in modern music. The song is almost 50 yrs old!!!!
I remember watching this on BBC2 age 17 .Saw the band original line up at the Dominion in London 2 years later. AWB top UK band who broke the USA and also one of the most sampled bands to early Hip Hop.
Yes I’m listening, wow,, this original is brilliant, makes me shiver with love, this is a true classic ,, why did he die so soon , he had so much soul rest in piece xxx😢
Hamish Stùart was very under rated. This band with his vocals was unbeatable in soul blues. Should have been in Hall of Fame but they were ftom Scotland. Molly Duncan on sax ..remarkable. rip Molly! Watch "Cloudy" live from Person to Person album. My lord! Hamish on that one! ❤
