i make 6 figures, and i dont have a college degree. debating on getting one to potentially make more, but it really makes more sense to get certs instead. more up-to-date info and in-demand skills
Is this a video or an ad?
She has such a great attitude, no wonder she made it.
I've never heard of ISAs, that's so cool!
very important video. Traditional ways of qualifying for jobs need to be revamped
"I think anything is possible at this point" "I see things and think about things in a totally different way" It's not just about those 6 figures and the lifestyle tech gives you. It's about the person you become. A much better version of yourself.
Geeat vid. Consider where she was working. Made sense in the low six figures after worked in the field and same company for a few years. Retired computer engineer. Not hiring folks like me that are on mid 60s and older. Did data scientist work the last few years of my career. Only able to do it because of experience. However company i worked for advertised for PHDs for data scientist after laid me off. Never seen an ad for that job that did not asked for a PHD. those got the 6 figure salaries
You guys are the best, please keep producing contents for us
It's true that you don't, but you still need to study a trade or start a business. A degree won't ensure success, but its better than if you just have a highschool diploma.
So we really just gonna ignore the elephant in the room ?? How she had 9 YEARS of supported lifestyle to explore and exhaust all her other endeavors. How her husband find a quality formation. How she had the free time, full house, expenses supported to undergo these 19 month long studies. Her family duties to get a break from those certs and still keep that sense of belonging and social safety nets. DataSc is hard, so not taking credit away from her, she obviously smart and diligent. But a single young person unemployed couldn't just "get into it". Not without massive, crushing and stressful debt. This path is not accessible to everyone and she incredibly privileged.
Hi π Wonderful video; what an eye opener! Thanks! βοΈ
Fantastic video. People need to know that Temsy, while awesome, is not unique in being able to make the leap without a degree. I have a pretty similar story to hers, having made the leap from Apartment Manager to ML Engineer without a degree, just hard work and self-directed learning.
Not one job ive had this far has asked to seen my collage degree
So #inspiring! Thank you!! πͺππ
Only happens in TECH industry.
I love "learn to code"
So it's not for a degree? How will I get hired if I don't have a degree? Having a bachelor's at the minimum ensures that I have taken plenty of computer relevant courses, like art/diversity studies/History of Colonialism, etc. Those are the real classes that will get me hired in a data/computer related career at a place like Google, not Python/JavaScript coding courses lol. Please respond, I am interested <3
Coding with a trackpad and a laptop keyboard, that's painful to watch.
yayyyyyyyy
