A lot of the reasons you name are the reason I think people should draft and edit their novels on Google Docs or Word before publishing on Wattpad. Especially if they are taken it seriously. The only reason I think you should delete is when you think about rewriting the story or because you realize Wattpad is not its target audience. Those are the reasons I've deleted mine.

You're right. That point about hate comments was sad. Some readers are horrible to female characters. If she's nice, she's a doormat. If she's mean, she's a ... *insert an inappropriate word here*. It's so annoying. Unfortunately, though, it has angered me so much that I sometimes find myself being so pro-female-character to compensate that I may or may not occasionally hate on the male characters. To be fair, a lot of them are jerks. And I just don't put up with jerks. And oh my gosh, I'm so curious now to find your secret account!

I really thought this video was gonna be you saying "Yes" and then the Thanks For Watching screen for ten minutes. Your point about losing your spark is spot on though, I feel like a lot of artists have a hard time letting go of a project they've sunk so much effort into which is rough because an audience can absolutely feel the palpable energy shift in a book, album, film, etc when the artist stops feeling the itch.

I deleted all of my first stories, when I first started writing on Wattpad. Those stories were before I even discovered the chapters adding option. Also, they were bad in terms of writing. And I also worked on many drafts at once. A few of those I straight up deleted, and recycled some of the things for other stories, a few of which I actually got around to finishing. The problem for me is I know where I want to end up with each story, but it's very difficult sometimes to come up with a smooth, effective transition.

Why i can't edit my story when i unpublished? It always say wattpad keep stopping and the fact that it only happen to the same story, I can edit the others but i can't in the specific story
