@GenieJC

Thats an introverts dream 😂 i hate small talk especially getting my hair or nails done. Its cause i get easily exhausted from socializing. I like to reserve my energy for work or mom stuff. I usually like everyone though its just a me thing.

@ivanapekarovicova5438

Im glad if they say helloo😂

@kookeymonstir

Depends on my mood. Even while working there are customers i really enjoy talking to. But some days i just do what i need to n leave bc im mentally too exhausted to talk story. However, sometimes it happens when im not in the mood, and just talking to them made my day a lil better and manageable ❤

@aycakutlu8889

Complete silence please! As an European this is the hardest thing when I'm visiting US.

@cherieharris1982

Like the small talk.

@lottynava5580

I'm not one for small talk, it's very awkward for me. I'm a very direct & straightforward type of person.... honest to a fault.

@susantimko4811

I work at a small town post office, customers love small talk. They tell me things I would be ashamed of saying out loud...

@christinecleavest9099

I think over time once they become familiar, you will find more small talk. I get it at the bank, the mercado and other stores I frequent, even the bus driver on occasion.

@Tiffanieg81

Depends where u live, i live in southern spain and they converse quite a bit but have been here for 25 years so maybe im almost a local at this point…😅

@x0habiib0x

I bartend in Seattle and we are known for our “Seattle freeze” cuz like all big cities we dont have the energy to interact with every single person we come across. There are a lot of them. But when I get aaaall the out of towners from the east coast or wherever, they are noticeably very aggressive with their “how are you?!” And I’m like here’s a menu let me know if you need anything. I hate small talk and “how are you?” I will literally tell you how badly my day is going. Don’t ask if you don’t wanna know. 🤣

@nicolebest8193

I love hearing about your experiences in Spain and comparing them with the US. My father is Spanish and my mother's mother is, too. So speaking directly is common in our family. Having travelled to Spain (from the US) on Iberia Airlines I didn't think anything was wrong with their simple direct questions and then leave you alone approach to customer service.
Sure, the grocery clerk in US would make small talk, but just getting it done doesn't really bother me with the simple polite words. And since my ability to speak Spanish is only asi asi, it makes me less uncomfortable when interacting with the locals in Spain.

@user-tw6ne3vo5p

I like small talk cause you usually see them every week or more than once a week.

@EricaBedford

I love ppl so I like the small talk

A los tímidos como yo nos encanta la charla trivial, aunque no solemos iniciarla.

@carolcovarrubias2070

I think I could live in Spain. A little friendly small talk can be nice if it's sincere. But all too often, it's just too much. And it's not just customer service workers who do it. I work in a call center, and while I care about taking great care of our callers, I don't want to waste their time or mine. I'm always pleasant and polite, and even friendly. But not overly so. If I'm having a bad day, I cringe when I answer the phone and the first thing I hear from the caller is, "Hi! How are you?" They don't want to know, and I don't want to tell them. I also don't want to hear their whole story. Yet there we are, wasting time and keeping other callers waiting with the meaningless "I'm fine, how are you, blah blah...." fillers. Please, just tell me your name and why you're calling, let me take care of it, and then let's move on.

@RaquelNavas

The US is more friendly 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

@DayDayTN

Yeah I could do without the chit chat at the Trader Joe’s checkout. I know they are trained to do it but I don’t know why. I don’t mind the talk about the products but I def don’t like strangers asking about my life.

@binesait

Aquí en los supermercados tienen un tiempo establecido para pasar por el scanner cada producto y cobrarte. Por eso van rápido y no hablan mucho, jeje. Yo prefiero small talk también y a alguien que no me conoce no le voy a contar mi vida... 😂

@lynnshaw2365

I think its nice if an assistant does acknowledge you but I am like you quite shy so don't want them to be over friendly.

@Susanjmaff2001

I think people that work in customer service here don't care if they do small talk because they get paid the same and the tips are low.
Also they are being watched by their superiors and are told not to talk more than necessary with customers.
Buen fin de semana, saludos desde Carcaixent.
