Going for my first IT help desk interview on Wednesday! Don’t have any work experience in the field so I’m hoping they see that from my resume and don’t ask for too many work-related questions. I’ll just do my best!

I'm not great at interviews, but yet whenever a company hires me, I always seem to stand out among other employees. I'm always the one people go to, to ask for help on an issue and I'm always available to help others. I also have adhd and I struggle with executive function, and I dont think the interview process is fair to those of us who struggle with this type of disability. One of my biggest problems is when interviewers ask situational questions, such as tell me a time when... Like for some reason it's just really hard for me to recall those situations, but yet during my job I constantly am faced with these types of situations and I understand that I have dealt with them and know what I did in those situations, it's just difficult for me to recall, especially when I am on the spot being asked this type of information. I think in my next job, whenever I encounter situations like this I am going to try to document the specific situation, so that I can refer back to it during my next interview, but the thing is when you're actively employed, you're not thinking far enough ahead about that next position most of the time...

😢 I'm new at this. I've never had any IT job before. I've only just recently received my A+ certificate and have been looking for work. I can only say that I am self-taught. I wanted to join the IT field in order to improve my standard of living and give myself a more career. I'm doing a virtual job fair tomorrow because i haven't been able to receive one interview yet and I'm hoping to finally talk to recruiters. I don't know what to say, however. I'm going to look worse compared to everyone else

Here's a BIG tip. Nervousness is CONTAGIOUS. If you're nervous you make the interview uncomfortable for everyone. Tough to hear and true and the same time. Work on projecting confidence (not over the top).

I felt 😢 sad , because for an IT interview, they asked me for the definition of RAM, CPU, ROM, and other simple questions, but I didn't remember them at the moment.

Great answers! I've been doing this for 15 plus years and these were great questions and answers Its always good to give yourself a refresher from time to time although I had my answers ready this definitely helped me assure me and refresh my wording a bit. Thank-you I have an interview in about 2 1/2 hours 😅.

Soft skills are important, honesty is important. If you answer some of these questions as described in the video you will seem disingenuous. Employers want to hear the real you not a scripted perfect version of you. TRUST ME
