@cheezcola

Biggest mistake for entry-level devs → stopping learning after landing first job.
Goal → become full-stack developer to maximize career options and income.
Sticking to one niche (email dev, frontend only) limits opportunities.
Constantly upskill → backend, CMS, marketing tech, full web stack.
Treat dev as a career, not just a job → like doctors constantly update skills.
Keep learning, stay adaptable → long-term success & higher earning.

Joe should create a new national department of job education.

Not some curriculum that includes art history or pottery classes.

Real. Useful. Education..

This video summed up what I recently had to sit with. Thankfully it was only a wasted year not 5 years but thankfully I've shifted gears to actively learning and growing in my career. I think another piece to this is thinking that once you get your first job, your employer is the one that will be the catalyst for positioning you to learn more when in reality its still your responsibility to expand your skills and keep taking the courses/reading the books/etc. Thanks for this video
