India has been on the verge of entering its next phase of development for the last 50 years.

Peter sneaking out of the U.S. into Mexico right here.
I visited San Paolo Brazil for week on business a few years ago. I was an environmental consultant working for a Fortune 500 engineering firm. I was impressed with the sub tropical environment - palm trees were wafting in the wind. We were warned that while most of the society is welcoming, that criminal elements in society specifically target Americans. This is because much of the country is desperately poor. We heeded my host's earnest advice. We visited the industrial plant we were working at and did our business back at the hotel.
AHHHHHHhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! Peter back to talking about the collapse of China again. Somehow I feel relieved and got that Zeihan Zen.
Here for my daily dose of optimism...
Here in Mexico, even though we're becoming a populist n4rc0-SH1TH0L3, people still seem to be coming to our beaches and our archaeological sites. I'm no fan of populism, but I'm amazed to still see millions of tourists coming here. I do know that those resorts and mostly touristy areas are indeed safer than the country as a whole, so that may be the reason why we're still good.
My Brazilian Portuguese is decent and I spent about a year there in the late 1980's. Rio had been the national capital up to the 50's, so there was still a solid middle class there. I had the time of my life and safety wasn't a huge concern. Now I doubt I'd even return for a visit. I also did a few months in Venezuela back then, but today wouldn't even consider it. Same goes for western & central Africa in the early 90's - a life changing experience back then. I remember walking by a church one night & hearing a choir practicing a chant. They didn't even know they had an audience. It was beyond lovely. Now, I wouldn't visit half those places. Forgive me for sounding like a fussy old man, but much of the world isn't "open" now like it was for me then.
Hmm... he seemed to ignore the services industry in India and Brazil. I have had Indian and Brazilian offshored coworkers in the IT industry for years, who have been making (relatively) decent salaries.
As a Canadian, this is an interesting topic, because its a giant cultural no-no to go to the states for tourism right now. I'm sure that this will cause our tourism to flow to other parts of the world instead.
Perhaps Peter should have led the series with places people actually go. Sure, people go to Indian and Brazil, but compared with a lot of other places that’s not really a big numbers. Plus, India and Brazil? Really?
I visited Tanzania “while I still could” cause of your videos.
I dont think global trade will collapse nor will trade from China collapse. Now 500 percent Tariffs could do that but I just cant see how China will just go away. Maybe their trade volume and economic importance will decrease drastically.
I worked for a company that produced steel cables from m mining down to grand father clocks. Our CEO made a deal with China to build a steel cable factory together. It cost 10 million dollars just get in to deal, our company lose everything Chinese were building a mirror factory close by everything we installed they installed. Needless to say we were told it’s for you to go. My company is gone I retired from there. Lots people lots of people lost their job and now there no plant left after 42 years of work. The Chinese government is as corrupt as ours, people should avoid them at all costs.
He's no doubt worried about if he will still have ready access to New Zealand😉😁.
Thanks for promoting tourism in india.
I'm retired at 47. went from Grass to Grace. This video here reminds me of my transformation from a nobody to good home, $255,000k bi-weekly and a good daughter full of love God bless America🇺🇲❤️....
World tourist are not coming to the US this year (Thanks to Trump), so planes are empty, so tickets are cheap. For this summer, tickets to Europe should be around $1700, but hey are now around $1000.
You can't predict whats going to happen in the future to other countries.....all while failing to acknowledge right now the 100 billion US tourism industry is in a death spiral !?
