Gardens bring a wealth of opportunities to experience joy. I love having pawpaw in our yard not just for the fruit, but also for the Zebra Swallowtail butterfly that lays its eggs only on Pawpaw. Another native fruit tree you may have is Persimmon. What gives me so much joy and anticipation is this time of year when, after waiting 6 or more years, they begin to bloom and reveal whether they’re male or female. Both are needed to produce fruit but only the female bears the fruit. This year 5 of the 20 trees I planted in a nearby park showed they will bear fruit. As more trees mature they’ll let us know how they’ll be participating in this glorious world of nature. New discoveries this week is a dove laying on an egg in our Arborvitae, two spicebush caterpillars on our Spicebush in folded-over leaves and our male and female Winterberry shrubs are blooming and full of bees. So fun. Thx for your inspirational video.
I have had the privilege of visiting Lisa's garden. I find her so inspiring that I even wrote a song about it! But I have never had a paw paw??!! I would like to try that.
Beautiful garden very peaceful and relaxing, thank you for sharing 😊❤
I didn't know passion fruit was toxic until very ripe! So interesting! I'm going to look into those butterfly flowers that you recommend. Liked and subscribed! I'm always looking for more gardening buddies and I'd love to follow along on each others gardening successes.
Oh Sandy, I'm so glad you were able to come and visit the garden. What a beautiful piece you've created. Thank you - I'm honored to have been a guest on Still Time For Joy. This was so much fun.
