I strongly recommend this movie for people of faith, and also to anyone with an open mind. It's not so much a romance as it is a young person's inner journey from an automatic, unthinking skepticism to at least an acknowledgement of the possibility of transcendent, "religious" truths. Many people grapple with these problems, but Hollywood rarely treats them in an open-minded, respectful, and accurate manner. I'm not "religious," but I enjoy movies that present faith and questioning in an intelligent, realistic way.

At some point, thought I was watching an ad to sign up for a course at Oxford.

@MrDemodeamo

just made my day to see that beautiful architecture.....i mean in 2024 it's more than ok to film a movie without Pain & suffering ""...just that adventurous flow that leads to an ending about realizing something deeper in our reality...yes it may seem boring ....but hasn't Hollywood shown us all that drama for the last 75 years...

@LukeRobertMason

This is one heck of a postgraduate recruitment video!

@mvpassi

I have just watched it and what an amazing movie. I think I cried the most at the moment were faith is so beautifully described as a journey of humility, where you accept you can't do it alone, and God helps you. Like Jesus knocking at the door of our hearts and we have to let Him in. I am an orthodox Chrisitian and I must say I was wary of watching it because media distorts everything faith-related, but this might be the best depiction of a journey towards faith that I have ever seen. Incredible.

I’m lucky enough to live in Oxford and regularly wander around the streets - am always in awe of the beautiful buildings. Have been inside many of them including the Bodleian Library, absolutely amazing, you can feel the history in the walls - the students are so fortunate to study there!

@susehendricks6217

Oh dear! It looked like Harry Potter everywhere! Love it. But seriously - I can totally see how just the environment makes you want to learn. These old walls remind you that you are a bigger part of something greater. Another brick in the wall...

What no chaos, drama, heartbreak, calamity, or disaster? How refreshing!
