@noctu5406

let's not forget that Mario Lemieux retired because he got cancer. HE DEAFEATED IT. THEN CAME BACK and STILL lead the league in points. imo one of the best player that has ever touched the game.

@Jake_Broer

Ayres was the EBUG (Emergency Back-Up Goalie). He wasn't just "picked out of the crowd"

@jeffwenberg4321

Ray Bourque was traded to Colorado for EXACTLY this reason.
Boston was not going to win the Cup while Bourque was a player.
Boston did the right thing and sent him to a team that had a great chance to win it all.

@beavermuffin

1:36 “WE LOST TO A ZAMBONI DRIVER!!!!!!!!” - Steve Dangle after the game on LFR.

@drakezimmerman_

"Ayers was just sitting in the stands with his wife. The Hurricanes started searching the crowd for an emergency goalie." No, every arena has 1 emergency back up goalie at every game for either team to use, they don't ask the crowd who can play.

@Taylor-gb5gf

this dude's killing me narrating this like an anime protagonist

@shadesilverwing592

fun fact with the Craig Anderson moment. the money raised that night in Edmonton all went to the Canadian cancer foundation, there was no 50/50 every cent went that night.

@mikepersico328

What Arys got was a real dream come true !! I saw that game snd i couldnt have been happier for him !!!!

@vernonmcgraw6627

A big one you missed…Bernie Geoffrion was a star for many years for the Montreal Canadiens and played for them his entire career and coached the team as well (how well he coached can be debated). His son played for the team also, though not a star The Canadiens, having not done so for quite a while, decided to retire several numbers, along with his number (finally) in a short span of time. Geoffrion bled blue, white & red & was extremely proud to have been associated with the team for so long. He passed away the night before the ceremony. Members of his family attended the ceremony, it was so sad to watch what would have been one of Geoffrion’s proudest moments, and to see his family there was heartbreaking 💔

@loltrope3266

i was hoping to see koivu and i was not disapointed, the 12 min ovation is such a powerful move

@Howling82

If you ever disrespect mario like that again saying came back from retirement cause he was bored I swear you will pay lol he retired due to cancer and came back after he beat it

@tipsysmichigander6483

The Ayres story never gets old...

@danevertt3210

Sakic handed that cup directly off to Ray

Good job 👍

@SimonRockwell-uu4eo

Yea agreed. Narrated like a true tennis enthusiast. 4 goals in a period ... "I didn't even think that was possible" Really? Enough to make me skip any future videos from this guy...

@mattgayda2840

Cliackbait, and no mention of Mario Lemieux having beaten cancer.

@ninjadude17

Personally a Caniac, but the moment for Bourque with the Avs tears up my eyes. Like it’s a moment that is so feel good that fandom doesn’t exist.

@munkustrap2

You're kidding right? Nothing on Bruins player Normand Léveillé??? I'd say his returning to the original Garden for a last skate on it's ice was extremely emotional, never mind how his career ended. For those who don't know (& for speed & ease I'm going to copy & paste)...

"On October 23, 1982, after the first period in a game against the Vancouver Canucks in Vancouver, British Columbia during his second season with the Bruins, Léveillé complained of feeling dizzy & having pains in his shoulder. As the trainers began tending to him, he lost consciousness. He was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors diagnosed a brain aneurysm. Léveillé was rushed into emergency surgery in an effort to save his life. After surgery, he was comatose for three weeks & remained hospitalized for an additional three weeks."

"In 1995, the Boston Bruins invited Léveillé to the closing ceremonies of the Boston Garden, where he was allowed to skate on the Garden ice one last time. Bruins captain Ray Bourque helped escort Léveillé around the ice surface."

By escort they pretty much mean pull. He could barely walk.

I'd say those were pretty emotional events.

@matthewdaub

14:39 its actually "i promised mess i wouldn't do this". He is referring to mark messier, his teammate and friend.

@aska221

almost spat out my drink when they said "braindead" lol 11:33

@danielficarra2557

I’d recommend the Paul Kariya moment from 03 now that was not only inspirational but emotional especially if you read up on how it affected him.
