REAL unemployment rate is SO much higher than what's stated too. The way the US calculates unemployment is misleading.
We shouldn’t buy unnecessary junk that’s advertised.
That's why I always tell my boyfriend that we should be prepared for whatever comes. An earthquake, war, global collapse, floods, fires, civil wars, etc. Always prepare for anything. Not just economically but also mentally, emotionally, and physically!!
America is not in a recession. America is in a depression. Layoffs will only increase.
Had to close my trucking company last year , nobody cares until it happens to them
Got laid off by Tesla in the middle of a custody battle. Found a lower paying job with more flexibility and a greater potential for growth. Went back to court for child support and custody modification. Thank God I’ve always been prepared, since tech jobs are volatile. Very grateful for the misfortune. People need to have back up plans. God bless.
I dropped everything but Amazon prime. Gym. Changed car insurance. All subscriptions. All cut.
I hate to day it but I saw this coming ...CEO's are making Millions off the backs of the middle class. It is a shame that so many good people are getting laid off due to pure greed.
I will never understand people putting their shame on social media. It all but ensures they won't be hired by someone else.
One thing I learned my layoff experience is no job is safe. Doesn’t matter how good or hard you work or how long you been with the company. They can terminate you like a number. Alway saved money for raining day.
I got laid off in January. One good advice is to find jobs that are nonprofit or city jobs. They are in demand now. I got a job as a substitute teacher within a week. So many schools are looking for substitute teachers. I never thought I would do this, but I need income to help with the mortgage. Don't be afraid to take a temporary job until you find the one you truly want. Great news! I got a city job. Grateful!
It's not just in the USA guys, it's everywhere. Companies have become so profit driven, its immoral.
My son is a fork lift driver. He has over 30,000 cash saved up. Today you've got to be very wise about spending your earnings. Thank goodness he listened to his parents and friends about saving.
Being out of debt is the way to go. My car is a 2001 with 386k miles. Hopefully it keeps going. There will be a major correction coming to housing. Be ready, GET READY
Here is a tip from a retired hvac skilled worker. Have 6 months of cash on hand, 6 months of food on hand, Dont eat out, Dont go out drinking and bar hopping. Work as many weekends , holidays and OT as you can. Stay out of debt and drive a paid off 10 year old car. Do that and you will be fine in life. If your a single man, Stay that way. Women are not worth the drama.
I worked for the Federal Government for 34 years. My experience with massive layoffs goes back in the 90s when they needed to close military bases to cut the budget in order to pay for future generations' fighters like the F22 and F35. Every time a base close, the towns close to that base would go bankrupt. This time since it's all over the USA, it will affect people all over the country. For those who are happy to see federal workers lose their jobs, 7 more indirect jobs will be lost. It might be yours. Mortgage rates and loan rates will drop including gasoline. Trump will focus on those positive issues as a win for him. History will repeat itself. My last base that closed, 70 thousand people lost their jobs. Take it from me after 34 years of federal job.
Remember everyone: Feb 28 don't shop or eat out anywhere that is corporate. We need at least 11 million Americans to take part.
I quit my 6-figure engineering job 10 months ago...ive been doing this type of work for over 20 years. I made sure i was financially secure! I paid off my mortgage back in 2020... i saved a large emergency fund... 5 years worth of expenses. I own my vehicles outright. Im older 43 but man i feel safe... my rental alone cash flows $2k each month... it wasn't easy! I lived way below my means forever it seems...i have zero regrets! My net worth is $600k.... i can return to a 9-5 job again but i kinda don't want to lol.
Governments living beyond their means. Corporations living beyond their means. Individuals living well beyond their means. What could go wrong ?
