I don't understand how anybody can think that the "abundance" and power conveyed by AI advancement is going to be distributed more equally than resources are now. We have the capacity right now to lift everyone in the world out of poverty and give them a comfortable life, yet we don't. Why? Because people who seek power and wealth like to horde it. Nobody should have even 10's of millions of dollars. They should give most of it away to those who actually need it. People are greedy assholes who like to dominate others. That will never change. AI will just supercharge the battle for supreme power and wealth. Those who control it (if it can be controlled) will use it to kill as many other humans as possible so that they can maintain control over as many resources as possible. This is how humans in power have ALWAYS behaved. Technological advancement has only ever benefited a proportionally small amount of humans in any era. The rest still live in poverty or economic slavery.
Our brains as you mentioned being wired for fear and scarcity, that's a very good point I think. Maybe we need inner change in addition to technological accelerating progress! The human nervous system has a great capacity for neuroplasticity and we could literally rewire it with things like mindfulness practices to align with abundance and safety, which will make it operate more efficiently and correctly in the automation age.
I appreciate conversation about AI. But, why aren’t there ever any everyday people in the AI conversations? Won’t teens, Moms, historians, journalists, economists, teachers, business people, poets, artists, be involved in the future? Don’t we get to weigh in as well? I feel like our future decisions are being ceded to techies. No offense, but do you see what I’m saying. Not to ask what or when, but why we are doing what we’re doing. You all seem to agree that AI could be an existential threat. I think you need way more people in the conversation.
1:12:13 These people are so out of touch with reality that it's sickening. Most people, and I’m talking about 99%, don’t want to become entrepreneurs. They don’t want to keep solving problems every single day just to build a business and hope the profits will take care of them. Most people simply want a stable job, a stable family, and a steady life. Yet these so-called thought leaders assume that everyone wants to be an entrepreneur, use AI, and solve problems. Even if that were the case, who would buy from these people when everyone is just solving problems and building businesses? If everyone becomes an entrepreneur, then who will be the consumer? It's such a lame take, honestly. The only thing that's going to happen is that the top 0.000001% of people will end up managing all the AI services, while the rest will be discarded under the excuse that they're just not productive enough. Of course, these rich people with industry connections and capital to allocate are happy with AI advancements lower labor costs mean they'll enjoy huge profit margins.
Ngl, I'm nervous for about 99.99% of the people who are gonna be left in the dust, including myself.
Ill be real—after finishing Hidden Codex of Wealth by Dorian Caine, my first thought was "how the hell is this book even allowed?" It straight-up ripped apart everything school, family, and society taught me about money. No fluff, no motivational clichés, just hard, raw truths you wont hear anywhere else. Now I get why this book isnt mainstream—its too real. If you find it, grab it before its gone.
Consumer spending is 68% of US GDP. You say that white collar work will end. Blue collar work would then be flooded with desperate former white collars while also eventually being made obsolete from robotics. Who are these new entrepreneurs and existing businesses going to sell to?
The irony is that the more mid career professionals adopt AI, the more high quality data is ingested and the faster complete human obsolescence
Happy 60th Salim! from here in Uruguay. Feliz 60ta Salim! desde aca en Uruguay.
I hear about abundance all the time. Can someone explain how this abundance, money wise, will come when many lose their jobs ?
Peters low 300k sub tells you the majority are not thinking or preparing for the future. This channel should be in the millions of subs
Really interesting conversation — but I think there’s a gap that often gets missed in these high-level AI discussions. While the opportunities are exciting (entrepreneurship, productivity, automation), there’s not enough said about how ordinary people, especially in the Global South, will survive this disruption. AI is already replacing white-collar jobs that were aspirational in many developing countries — data entry, support roles, translation. The "learn English, get online, earn remotely" ladder is collapsing fast. Not everyone has access to AI tools, digital infrastructure, or reskilling programs. Without that, millions risk being left behind. We need to talk not just about abundance — but access, equity, and real-world survival for those outside the tech bubble. Would love to see more grounded solutions explored in future episodes.
Hey Peter and Salim. By far one of your best Podcasts to date. Love the 4 way format. You are my new All In podcast. Keep them coming
It will be fantastic. If you are a billionaire.
Happy Birthday Peter! And Thank you for your leadership and vision
"AI is an Apex Predator" - Christopher Lafayette
Good conversation! Thank you! Great to see the Silicon Valley bubbling up with new ideas and cross-pollination again. That is the source of abundance. Also liked your comments about the need for new fabs by more countries. Happy to see all this momentum and Peter's comment about "monomaniacal" drive!
1:12:00 well said! I would say creativity and intelligence become abundant and we will be constraints for a while with physical constraints(energy, material etc.) Thank you for this great episode! Definitely opened my eye to think bigger instead of limiting myself to Think ai will replace x. We are having the opportunity to build things we couldn't have done before!
These 4 guys look so different that if I were an alien I would assume these were representatives from 4 different species.
