I'd like to add one more thing. For the health and comfort of others, pleeeese refrain from overdoing it with cologne, perfumes after shave etc. Some people are allergic to the chemicals in them (me!) Some people wear so much perfume you can smell them coming even before you see them. So unless you want the person next to you coughing violently for hours, or possibly throwing up with the violence of the coughing, please be considerate and don't wear strong fragrances. Thank you ❤
the information about the TSA medical device card is priceless! my husband is diabetic and wears a continuous glucose monitoring device. we both have problems with our shoulders which limits our ability to raise our arms. this information is pure gold! thank you!
Former head of the NTSB said most airline incidents are survivable, but a lot depends on what you wear. It’s all about protection from burns. She said only natural fibers against your legs like jeans, feet covered completely, leather preferable, arms covered in cotton or linen. Basically nothing that can melt on you and cause burns.
Skechers "Slip-Ins" shoes are a God send if you have trouble bending over or when you're in a hurry. Both old people like my husband and me and young people who are often in a hurry love them, love the look and the comfort. I look for the ones that are machine washable. For sure, I wearSlip-Ins Skechers for air travel!
I flew with an airline that I don't typically take. When I saw the flight attendants boarding the plane, I realized that my navy blue dress nearly matched their uniform. It didn't get me special treatment from the airline but, I did get some questioning looks from the other passengers.
I wear an old pair of thick socks over my compression socks to go through security. Once I put my shoes on again, I stow the outer socks in a plastic bag in my tote bag. I can slip them on again when going to the plane’s lavatory, too. Then I repeat the process on the way back home, and just toss the old socks in the trash.
That was so comprehensive. What a superb video!
My son was pulled out of a school group because he was the only one in the group (escorted by teachers) who was wearing appropriate footwear for the school trip to go walking up the volcano (walking boots). He was let through, but when they got to the trip, everyone else found the ground too hot to walk on!
Rayon is from plant fibers. It's natural and very comfortable to wear.
I only travel with a small suitcase, roll up 5 pairs of shorts , pants ,shits & underwear in separate baggies that way I’m protecting my clothes from unwanted bugs. day 4 I take my clothes to a laundromat as they are everywhere or if staying with family or friends I do my laundry there. I leave my house with clean bagged clothes come home clean bagged clothes. Zip locked freezer bags are the best as they are thicker.
I always wear heels and a great dress, no carry-on. A decent-sized handbag with things that may have vanish from my checked luggage. No problem.
Even in pre-check lines, you will have to remove your shoes if you are wearing heels. Most heels have steel shanks that will set off the alarms
A very long time ago, when crocs were relatively new, I went to Bahamas and Miami wearing a pair of them. I think it was that the size was one number too big for me. The Bahamas airport was under redesign and we had to walk and walk and walk in circles. When I got to Atlantis, I almost couldn't walk. My soles were in flames. All a big blister. My trip was ruined. I couldn't wear any of the nice shoes I took. I couldn't walk. I couldn't enjoy anything. It was a nightmare. All because I thought "the hell with elegance, I need shoes to take off and put in a second." They were comfortable to be at home, doubg things. Definitely NOT TO TRAVEL.
I always use a couple of burlap bags and synch up with a belt. One for underwear/socks the other for shirts. Just the trousers and shoes you stand up in.
Wear knitted cotton lounge pants. The hems can be pulled up above your knees for bathroom use, negating the fabric mingling with the wet floor. Heaven knows what that water could be. I’ve never met a lav on a plane with a dry floor! And always wear shoes to the lav.
I have a small bag that folds into a pouch. I put all my security items in it, electronics, power bank, phone, bag of toiletries, etc so when i get to security, i can put everything from that bag into the tray. I then pop it into my carry on for boarding. Saves fumbling at security.
If you have headphones, not earbuds, don't wear stud earrings, it's painful. I have headphones so I wear tiny drop earrings on planes with an ear wire, not a stud or no earrings at all. Also before TSA pre check I would wear 2 pair of socks, the outer pair would be something very old and ready to be replaced which I would simply remove and discard before I put my shoes back on.
Very good advice on what to wear to the airport. I wear a lot of Merino Wool and that’s great for travel
Great video, but I noticed someone was wearing a pullover hoodie. I was asked to take my hoodie off, but I didn't have a shirt on underneath. They pulled me off to scan me because of it.
