56 years old - mega maintenance experience (2 year degree in electronics, 10 years fixing equipment) and technology (4 year degree in computer science, 20 years of IT programming/support) - hell I even have 6 years as a security guard. I'm still employed at a good company, but I wanted to get a part time weekend job to pay some bills. Sat in an interview after interview where the interviewees were making sour faces as I talked - it was hilarious! Tried to dumb down my resume enough to get some of these crappy overnight jobs - no bites. It's pretty clear if I want to make more cash, I'm going to have to start my own thing.

True that…a couple years ago I was very busy in my position and my work partner left the previous year…so it was the busy season with just me working remote. I didn’t want the boss to think I was falling behind so after work and after I had dinner I would get back on the computer to do some catch up work that would allow me to be square for the next day’s workload. I did that all summer. Then the work started slowing down …forward two years and now I’m laid off…..no new job interviews…. No right fits….am I doomed to become a housewife??? I didn’t go to college for THAT.

In a world of negativity, I wish you do more content that focus more on solution, positivity and hope. While there’s a lot of truth and reality to what you say, there needs to be more of a balance. You can spread hope, positivity while still be REAL about life.
