More than the plot, I enjoyed the language in which this novel is written. It is beautiful and the narration is enjoyable. No bad language! How refreshing and uplifting.

I just love Fredericks character. His quips during dinner had me chuckling. My favourite scene though is Frederick planting Simon a facer. I wish more men would do that on a ladies behalf to abusive jerks who break our hearts. Thank you for adding it to your story. I am really enjoying Madeleines smooth voices in all your books.

I really loved this story. I've read 3 all out of sequence 😆 but this has me mad, sad and frustrated at Simons antics around Susanna. Its true to say that some folk just don't see what's under their nose. Poor Mina was a trooper for putting up with the abuse from everyone but I was glad when she decided she'd had enough .

What a powerful story! Thank you for this tortured love story. It overcomes such difficulties but ends with such love. I really enjoyed the moments with the horses and the children, as well.
