@Richa_cute

This is one of the few videos that actually talk what one expects from the title. Some big names in YT are just gatekeeping, or breadcrumbing. My background: I am computer science postgrad-to-be.

@gabrielfono844

Hey Andrew
I love your story.
I also taught myself coding at 28 and get my first job at 30 and I am 33 now.
I also taught programming and have been working as backend engineer for the past 3 years.
I am thinking about start learning algorithm and datastructure in June 2025 to eventually join my dream company google.

@DobrzyToby

Only thing that worked for me after 3 years trying to get a tech job:
Doing 1 LC problem daily for 3 to 6 months
Building theoretical foundation by reading CLRS (can take up 2 years)
Learning coding patterns by reading DSA Takeover Cheatsheet

@CodeTrix22

Soon as you said you got into tech in your 30's and learnt everything online for mostly free, I clicked subscribe faster than I've done to any other channel so thank you.

@marcin2x4

"Grokking Algorithms" is indeed worth looking at.
Also, brushing up some math can also be helpful (algebra, combinatorics, logs etc) to switch your brain into pattern solving mood.

@nicomartina

Btw Andrew, You remind me of me! I started playing around with code at 28 but I didn't get serious until 30 ish and now I decided to go college because I actually enjoy it and want to go deeper! I probably won't be getting my first job until I'm 33 or so (I'm 31 rn) but your story seriously motivates me and reminds me that I am not alone in this world! Keep it up!

@Martindevs2024

It’s amazing how persistence can turn things around! 💪 Mastering DSA can be tough, but with the right approach, it’s definitely doable.

@sadikmzl

Went through the video scrolling back and forth, taking notes and checking the resources mentioned. That’s how I enjoyed this video. BIG thank YOU

@alexandreabarbosa

This video could have saved me a lot of time if I had seen it six years ago. Fantastic didactic, Andrew! It inspired me to review these subjects and finally finish to read and practice the Cormen book (Introduction to Algorithms). You managed to clarify things for someone who’s afraid and struggling to start coding efficiently and cleanly.

@tylernardone3788

Thank you for this! I'm a pretty solid pythonista at this point but have avoided going heavily into ds & algos and leetcode style problem grinding and in this short video you managed to provide 1. confidence and 2. a no BS high-overview roadmap. Love it. Subcribed!

@efecz

Hey Andrew I am currently 27 years old fullstack bootcamp student from Turkey. Your video is most information dense and clear DSA101 roadmap I see. HUGE thank you!

@Ayo_9677

I thought im the only one that is stuck at linked list with the pointers or next, glad to know that i can memorize them...though i understand the point but get stuck when actually time code by my own, and it was my first structure to know in my entire DSA course

Thank you this video actually helped... and I'll try the book you recommended

@snehaelizebeth6146

Bro is more of a runway model than a techie!!!

@Green-Code

Great video!

@tatemuchi7372

On this day (14-02-25), i was directed to your channel through daily dev and boy oh boy when you started speaking as soon as i pressed play i knew you made sense in everything you where talking about so i went and hit that Subscribe B then also liked your video. I not only think but i believe that you are one of the Greatest Content Creater @Andrew Codesmith, you have helped me in so many ways just by taking some time to sit and watch this video Sir, i can't express man thank you thank you. I am a self taught Full stack developer and am willing to learn some great things so i can help save and change the world for the better of our future generations. I represent Mozambique, Maputo, in Africa my brother and please DON'T STOP DROPPING THAT KNOWLEDGE!!

@dianaramirez1819

Hi Andrew, I'm currently studying Information Technology and I've been doing a roadmap to improve myself about software developer. I must say I admire your work, also your tips are really helpful. So thanks a lot for your videos 😊

@deborapichel6029

New sub here!! I'm also in my 30s and learning how to code for the last months, so I can land a job that allows the flexibility to live between two countries. Loved your video. Im currently doing the Data Structures and Algorithms course in Coursera (taught by Amazon as part of their JR Dev course). I am only doing this module and so far like it, like you I had no clue about Data structures and wanted to get a basic understanding because for those of us without a CS degree, I feel we are always trying to cover our bases to make sure we get at least a basic foundation on all relevant subjects that are taught at college/may be required at work. Anyway, thanks for the time you take to record all this free material! :)

@Sonoroussun

We're using the algorithms book at my university. Really interesting book. One of the classes I enjoy a lot

@cr7forever7877

I am glad I found this video. This video is by far the best roadmap I've seen about studying DSA

@peaches7627

had to listen twice....as the first time i was distracted by your lethal face card
