Hmmm.... Lets assume we sell put options at their fair value. Then risk and reward are completely balanced - thats the definition of fair value. Can you pls explain why you - and all others - prefer high IV for selling? High IV means higher premium, BUT ALSO HIGHER RISK. What we usually want is selling with high IV and assuming that IV goes back to mean - before the option expires, of course.

Noob questions as I'm new to selling PUT options. I'm using Fidelity. I have some contracts that expired today. Fidelity activity does not show any transactions. Do they alert you if it gets assigned on the day of expiration?
