@SpammytheHedgehog

There isn't a tooth fairy. There is no easter bunny. And there is no Megamind 2! Nor is there a Kung Fu Panda 4.

@omaripaki

Ah yes, corporate greed.

@Creterampage

There is no Megamind 2 in Ba Sing Se

@kreazea

when i heard there was a 4th Kung Fu Panda movie coming out, I was super excited. but the moment I found out that the Furious 5 was NOT going to be in the movie, that killed the excitement. How can you make KFP WITHOUT the F5?! for that reason alone, I have NOT watched the movie

@shenzyreal

What a great analysis with a ridiculous conclusion. WHO literally acknowledges the fact that writing in media suffers when the writers do, then pins the blame on "going woke" as the final culprit?

A poorly written villain/protagonist isn't lame and shallow because she's a woman, but because she's poorly wirtten.

Movies don't care for being genuine and immersing us into their worlds and characters anymore, they're far too busy being ironic and emotionally manipulating us to make us feel what they want us to and WHEN they want us to feel it, then layer it in glittery animation and marvel humor to distract us from the plotholes.

@itsai2138

Blaming what made Kung Fu Panda 4 bad on "Woke" is so silly. I like your content but idk about this one man, it feels like a cop out

@Gamegedon.900

i'd argue the lazy writing was what ruined kung fu panda 4, not 'wokeness'. saying it was ruined because of wokenss is just a cop out, and a stupid and lazy one. that's like saying that one men in black movie [international] was ruined because of wokeness, and not because not having will smith was a turn off for the fans

@TerribleTiff

Can we stop calling things ""woke"" when its just corporate greed laziness and bad writing

@Princessmisaofficial

Exactly. Hollywood has lost the plot and I think that's why anime is so popular now. People are done with this shit I know I am

@brummelbar

Actually Shen wouldn’t have worked as a female - female peacocks don’t have the dramatic tail feathers. As another animal yes, it could have worked of course but we wouldn’t have gotten Shen.

@geardog24

If I was going to a make proper Kung Fu Panda 4 I would take the story out of China, maybe by having the Furious Five look for a stolen treasure or weapon in another country like Japan, England, Egypt, or Rome. The team runs into the local hero who’s the nation’s equivalent the Dragon Warrior who agrees to help them. It’s revealed that one of the Five (maybe Tigress) actually has origins to said country and they’ll consider staying. The supposed villain is basically like Tai-Lung, but in a twist they’re not evil just needed the weapon to fight the real bad guy: this country’s Dragon Warrior who became corrupt with power. Evil DW steals the weapon, powers up, they have a big fight, Evil DW loses, Not-Evil-Tai learns the Marvel lesson about power and responsibility, and Tigress decides not to stay but also get closer to Po.

The End

It’s not much but I tried.

@Waddlez3121

"Wokeness" is the dumbest blame for a movie to be bad. A movie can definitely be bad for politically bad reasons on any end of the spectrum, but the ones you cite aren't woke. They're not pushing a social agenda, they're just bad. (Ex.: the Chameleon saying she felt underserved due to her stature isn't woke, it's just a simplistic writing choice the writers made because they forgot to give her a reason to be evil.)

I assume this is poorly-exaggerated phrasing

@SH4M3L3S5

13:36 oh sorry Mantis. Forgot you was there

@nateharvi6684

Nah comparing slop megamind 2 with the just middle of the line kung fu panda 4 is the most diabolical thing the internet has ever done

@dnoel11

13:38 too "small" when a literal mantis is in the furious 5...

@ziiyan2370

While I agree that a problem with movies is that they are going woke, you didn't really explain why. What is happening and why people are saying movies are going woke is that movie studios are giving representation to groups they don't actually care about. They'll make a female main character just to appeal to the females in the audience, but will fail to give her any personality or character. Or they'll have an LGBT character, but won't actually give them proper representation or character. It's so blatantly obvious that they are just checking boxes to try and appeal to what is trending at the time. Both Disney and Dreamworks are guilty of this, but Disney more-so.

@triadwarfare

How to ruin a good channel? Accusing a movie of going woke instead of the actual reasons.

@kingwing7952

“But if you really want to put the nail in the coffin for a series, there’s only one thing to do; And that’s to go woke.”

You really had me with this video until you used that buzzword. You complain that movies seem like they are just “Checking boxes” and yet that word in your script serves the exact same purpose. The failed movies didn’t suck because they “went woke”, they sucked because their writers were lazy and nobody cared about what they were making through the whole process. They are no more woke than anything that came before. If anything, the first two Kung Fu Panda movies had a far greater concentration of “woke” content (I really, really hate that word). Just because there was something like a gay kiss, or “too much DEI” or whatever doesn’t mean that’s what makes the movie bad, it’s because it wasn’t a movie with effort put into it. Whatever the hell definition you tie to word “woke” to isn’t why a movie sucks, it’s that they cheaped out on things like writing, voice acting, animation and more.

@Creterampage

Sorry but you lost me when you started to use the term “woke”.

This isn’t “wokeness” at all, it’s just bad writing. Do you even know what the term “woke” actually means?

@HerlirFilms

Why do people always complain about equality these days & say how bad it is. Whenever someone says something "went equality" it's never as a good thing.
