I Bought a "new" iPhone from wish! :youtube.com/watch?v=1Dkan8AFR6I&t=2s&ab_channel=PhoneRepairGuru

@PhoneRepairGuru

There are tons of potential uses for this like if you're buying new furniture and want to see how it looks, you can scan it and place it in your room via AR. App is 3dappscanner ( not sponsored).
Lidar is available on most flagships and probably a lot easier/useful to use on android OS. Only works on iPhone 12 Pro and up

@cyntheaqaqish

โ€œSo most people go their whole life without knowing what that black dot isโ€
I have PRG to tell me what it is ๐Ÿ˜
Itโ€™s actually sick

@ESCcrasci

This will save a lot of money for people who want to make realistic 3d image prototyping for sure. It will be equally good if android's start coming with it too. But 1/1 for apple for implementing it. ๐Ÿ‘

@oktagon4546

I like how apple builds a 3d scanner into a consumer device but doesnt advertise with it or develop an app for the consumerbase.
Just sayin'...

@xXmlgamingXx355

Apple literally made a big deal out of LiDAR when announcing the first iPhone to have this feature. Plus, the entire tech community was talking about it for quite a long time. How do people not know what LiDAR is despite all of the noise that surrounded it?

@vittosphonecollection57289

Omg it basically works like scans in movies, but with really high quality models and absolutely no lag on mobile aswell!!

@MiaButtreeks

If phones listen to you speak about things and then advertise them to you, clearly the microphone picks up things you dont record. It wouldn't be a stretch to think a sensor that no one knows is there or the function of could spontaneously turn on and record all of your surroundings and potentially the people within the phones surroundings too. But I'm probably just overthinking it lmao

@xarduinx

I'm not an iPhone user but this is genuinely really cool!

@Oicu8

Imagine apple's database of the 3D WORLD as everyone has been using them for years unknowingly.

@nafinafih88

People without LiDAR: Ik what it is
People with LiDAR: what is that thing? ๐Ÿ˜‘

@R_5_

-"So most people go their whole life without knowing what that black dot is"

-me who has bought 12 pro for it "Ah, yes"

@ozone_5389

duuude imagine being able to make a detailed map for a game just using a phone and being at the place

@jeremyadler-g1o

Fun fact: this is the technology used in self-driving cars. My dad has been working on it for a few years now. He explained to me in basic terms how it works, and letโ€™s just say itโ€™s pretty freaking cool

@tysincain7636

And this is why I buy and hold MTTR stock !! So awesome ๐Ÿ‘Œ
Thanks Matterport Inc !!

@malissawhite4569

After watching this I just uploaded the 3D Scanner. Thanks!!!

@mastervacation

It takes so little to brighten someone else's day. Yet it can leave them feeling happy for a moment, an hour, a day, or give them a sweet memory for life. Help someone in need (esp. the elderly), tell someone you care about theyโ€™re amazing, compliment the chef who just made your delicious dinner, post something positive or leave a kind comment on social media, even just smile at people around you... And it will make you feel pretty awesome, too. ๐Ÿ™Œ.

@juliann.213

I tried it and it worked! That is so cool, thanks!

@irfanj

That lidar on the iPhone is actually pretty dead accurate. Some dude even made a comparison video on positioning of the iPhone vs professional equipment

OMG THIS IS SO COOL-
