Many thanks! I’ve come back to this video more than any other while learning PLL algs. It’s fantastic. I’m so glad you get to do what you love. ✨
I like how he just gets to the point without giving intros and saying boring stuffs.
a note for beginners: jperm is a lefthand-dominant solver (he has an easier time executing algs with a lot of L face moves). try mirroring some of his algs if you feel like you are a righthand-dominant solver ;) (that should apply mainly for the shown A-perms)
I’m currently only 13/21 on my way through learning PLL, but I can say that one thing I really like about PLL is that most of the algorithms are their own inverse, so you can practice them really easily. Just start with a solved cube, apply a v perm (for example) to get to a v perm situation, then do the v perm again to go back to solved. I.e., if you just do the v perm alg repeatedly, the cube will oscillate between solved and v perm unless you make a mistake. Sorry if that was really obvious to everyone else, but had I known that before starting, I would have started sooner. My biggest hurdle to starting was the mental block around worrying that learning an algorithm was pointless if I couldn’t drill it repeatedly, and I thought I’d also have learn how to scramble the cube back to that setup just so I could do the algorithm again. Or, I would have to hope I saw certain PLLs at the end of a random solve, but that’s a very ineffective way for my brain to cement information.

Well I may as well use this video and attempt to get faster for the first time in like 5 years 😂 Favourited

Some advice I have is to prioritize learning the ones that are most likely to appear first. The ones you should learn last are: H Na Nb Which all have a probability of 1/72. Second last should be: Z E Which both have a probability of 1/36. All of the others not stated have a probability of 1/18. The missing 1/72 is the probability that the cube is already solved and you get a PLL skip.

Thanks! I'm improving some of my PLL, I need to break the sub-13 barrier finally.
just 20 minutes ago i watched your pll old fingertricks video. thats amazing
Hey J-Perm! Just got back into speedsolving after a multiple years hiatus. Back before I stepped away from the hobby I had about half of the PLL's down. I'm starting to pick up the others. Today I decided to start drilling the V perm, and yours is really fun and satisfying to do. I've just gotten to the point in drilling it where I'm no longer thinking about the notation but just executing from memory, and it's more fun the faster I go. Thank you so much for all the work you put into this channel and all the help you've given me over the last couple weeks.
j perm was the reason I started Cubing a year ago, and was the reason I learned beginner CFOP a month ago, the person who taught me, and is the person teaching me full OLL and full PLL rn
I wanted to say... perfect timing, I really need to drill my plls AND I love the no intro - straight to content BUT instead imma say.. You made crazy bad cuber come out of hiding, THANK YOU!

I was literally looking to learn my final 2 PLLs this week. Thanks for this post bro !!
For right handed people with small hands, I found another alternative for the Z Perm M' U' M2 U' M2 U' M' U2 M2 P.S The angle at which you start on is different from the one in the video. It replaces the one that's facing you with the one to the right of you.
