@MeronOppa

The Apple TV is so underrated. My Apple TVs are one of the best purchases I’ve made: fast, beautiful, reliable, responsive, easy to use, small, beautiful interface, part of the ecosystem. I can’t recommend enough this device, even if you don’t have another Apple device, it will improve your TV experience so much.

@fernwood

Thanks for not having sponsors.

@TheDigitalPlayground24

That tv mount scares me

@compudude

One thing you left out: Privacy. Anything you watch on the native SmartTV apps is heavily tracked, sold and monetized by the TV manufacturer (and/or Google if your TV is android-based). Every single thing, every show, every click. Apple is tracking this stuff, too, I have little doubt, but their privacy policies are a LOT more robust. I'd much rather Apple know I'm watching Netflix than Samsung or Google.

@gene6867

I've got the Apple TV 4th edition. I've been tempted to buy a new one for a while, but would feel wasteful retiring a perfectly fine device. I will hold off for the new version and will probably buy that one.

@cheapme1850

I was initially a Roku fan but the seamless integration with my Apple ecosystem, especially the security camera interface, made me go all ATV. Also the constant ads on Roku started to get to me.

@kagami4120

So what are the hidden benefits?

@RogierYou

That’s all we use. In order to activate our new LG it insisted to connect to the Internet and agree on them spying on us. So I activated it using Ethernet cable that I disconnected once the tv was activated, for good measure blocked its MAC address on the router. Hooked up the Apple TV, done.

@mzaalam

Oh yeah I moved from chromecast and fire HD to an Apple TV. Love it.

@JaredBrunet

Wake me up when you can sideload apps onto it, like Stremio, or a modified version of the official YouTube app.

@davidm.8309

I Velcro my Apple TV box behind the TV, no clutter. Great streaming box.

@funkycoldm3dina

The voice recognition at time works well but sometimes it is so frustrating it drives me totally up the wall.

@erniewarinner7692

I running 7 Apple TVs in my home. Even my oldest is running TVOS 18 point whatever. All run as smooth as silk.

@TheAsjdj

I have used the apple tv for well over 2 years now and it just works. Don't need to think about what the OEM not updating the tv OS and the lazy spec they provide. Also having access to apps like moonlight is just amazing. No need to pull wires from a pc to the tv. I just wish they would keep the Ethernet connection. I have the model with the ethernet and it works likes a charm for inhome game streaming

@pdandersondo46

I have 2 of the apple tv boxes and I swear they have better quality pictures than my fire cubes and smart tv's alone.

@jjmag3107

Good review. Ive been a ROKU guy for a few years, mostly because of the lower cost for the unit. We’re all Apple computers / iPhones / iPads, so an Apple TV makes a lot of sense. And the Apple TV will integrate with our existing tech. I’m hoping the new version is released soon, as I’ve been holding off for the latest greatest.

@qccanales8610

I have a profesional signage monitor as "tv" and always struggled with correct color / brightness calibration, Apple TV did the trick, now it looks so amazing!!! and since its a pro monitor it can be ON for hrs enyoing it a as big digital photo display. I constatly add photos from my iphone to the shared folder, works flawlesly.

@the_dylan_white

I own Apple TV 4K (with Ethernet), Fire Stick 4K, and Roku Ultra 4K. I work in an industry where I need to be on top of the latest offerings. There is nothing close to the Apple TV 4K. It’s twice as fast as any other streaming device, the picture is sharper, with brighter colors and better contrasts, and the sound is actually much better when playing through a sound bar. The implementation of Dolby Atmos through Apple is somehow superior to the other devices. It’s hard to explain. You just have to try it to see what I mean. Not to mention it can be used as a gaming station, on top of connecting itself to your person Apple ecosystem. It’s completely worth the price tag to own this. For those who have only ever used Roku or Fire Stick, you have no idea how much better you COULD have it with this device.

@fahadzakir6397

Hung my brand new 85” Hisense u8 and was feeling down since the purchase because watching live sports was laggy and choppy.
Im so glad I rant into a Reddit post about this solution, and now my Hisense has an IPhone UI which I love. Watching sports in 4k SDR settings is working seamlessly, it’s as if I’m watching sports on a $3,000 tv.

@Stubear22374

Love my Apple TV that the 4K and two HomePods makes the best viewing experience when watching movies and no ads mean I’m happy, if Apple ever put ads on it I’m gone
