amazing narration! please make more
Beautiful graphics and well written and spoke narration. Please keep it up!
Charles Dickens look reeeeeeal tired in that photo at around the 9:00 mark. I can't blame him for that. Also I've seen a couple of your videos now and you earned a subscribe. :)
Really nice storytelling man. The 3D visuals and thumbnail, though well executed, feel like they’re aping Lemmino and Hoog though. Hope you can find a way to develop a visual style distinct from others to match the great storytelling.
I remember from my childhood stories from about as many centuries ago as you describe here, a similar thief here in Norway that was famous for escaping jails and slipping out of handcuffs and chains, I think he must have been inspired by this Jack Sheppard. Very interesting channel. I'll subscribe. I love history, and British history in specific. Then I'll hope there's more of this kind to be found on this channel. Again: Very interesting. Very educating. Very good narration. Kudos! Edit: The "Newgate Exercise Yard" (9:19) was reproduced by Van Gogh in a very good painting, I can remember.
I stumbled upon this video and im so glad i stayed! loved the narration and the video illustration! actually loved seeing the example photos of the literature
Fascinating. As a kid growing up in my dad's movie theatre, I vividly recall seeing a re-creation of one of Shepherd's escapes as the inspiration for a scene in Michael Chrighton's The Great Train Robbery with Sean Connery. The character name was, if I recall, changed to Willy, but it was as described here. What made it even more effective, though, was, in the film, he used the distraction of a public hanging outside Newgate. Holloway Prison in London stood in for Newgate in the film.
I've been in incarcerated in Wormwood Scrubs and Feltham in London , Woodhill in Milton Keynes and Saughton, Edinburgh. The worst was Saughton, The old A hall, B hall, C hall and D hall and F hall were Victorian some didnt even have a light switch.
A channel called Philosophy Tree has uploaded this exact video on their own channel, with no credit whatsoever to you. Thought I should mention it.
Brilliant story , good narration 🎉
Great video man, reminds me a lot of Hoog. Only thing I'd recommend is to change your mic settings a little since it's a bit harsh sometimes.
I enjoyed this very much. Particularly good narration.
This was incredibly well done. Wow!
Subscribed! Love your work!

Having heard of Newgate, but mainly because I spend my waking life in the city EC1, thanks. I never knew most of that (just Charles Dickens and the ‘modern’ prisons).
