Honorable mention for Wil Wheaton. His parents forced him and his sister to act when neither wanted to, stole Wil's money and to this day still gaslight him to the point that they believe they're the victims.
I felt sorry for Gary Coleman, who isn't mentioned here. He had health problems, his parents stole from him, and he was in an abusive relationship, and died young and mysteriously. Also Judy Garland, exploited by her mother, forced to work 20 hours a day, was forced to take up smoking and take diet pills to keep her weight done, and had a forced abortion by MGM.
Jennette McCurdy had to deal with fame on several fronts, including her mother, who forced her into the industry, and Dan “The Creator” Schneider. We all know what he did to many of those who acted in his shows.
Not only is it sad, but it’s also scary because some people would take advantage of them or force them to do something that would traumatized them for life 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Judy Garland and Amanda Bynes definitely should have been on this list
I never understand why people use the term meteoric rise like it's a good thing. Meteors don't rise, they fall quickly, burning away until there's nothing left.
Listening to both Cole and Dylan Sprouse talk about their childhood was heart wrenching. I knew his parents divorced when they were toddlers. I didn’t know they were removed from their mother’s home by child welfare services for severe abuse and neglect. Their mother was mentally unstable and a severe drug addict. And she took all of their money. Cole has said that fame warped her and I forget how he worded it, but said something like-his mother stopped acting like a mother, and had no maternal instinct, and some really bad stuff went down. Really horrible stuff.
Im super sad and tearing up, it's ashamed what they had to endure and much respect to each and every one of them. This is literally my whole childhood watching these actors and they were so traumatized throughout it.😭😭😭😢😢
I have so much respect for these child actors who I grew up watching from Raven to Alyson can't believe how frame was affected them and others mentally and physically during their time in Hollywood and with Disney it's so heartbreaking to hear what they were all going through during they childhood 😢😢
People say that it is what celebrities sign up to. But child actors have little say, since they are children.
I’ve read Jennette McCurdy‘s book and listen to her narrated, and from what she says is actually true with what she went through because of her mother it’s so sad of what she had to go through knowing her mother pushed her to become an actress and the way she talks about Dan Schneider which she calls the creator. I’ve watched the documentary about him called quiet on the dark side of kids TV that four parts series is very intense. They say mean stuff about him but with Jennette McCurdy It’s so sad. I went through my phase of liking her and listening to her country music that she’s done and her songs are amazing generation love is a beautiful song, but I like to put your arms around someone. It’s a song about giving hugs.. I met her a long time ago at capital records in Hollywood. They were doing a filming for the Food Network show, cupcake, wars, and capital records Nashville was there and they were celebrating the release of her Album And I was so lucky to see her even though she retired from acting. I’m glad she did the right thing of retiring, even though she did not want to do the iCarly revival. It’s good that she’s happy that people like me like to watch her on. Nickelodeon shows that she was in, she will always be my idol
I think Kate Bush said it best. She wrote the song "King of the Mountain" about Elvis Pressley. Even though Elvis wasnt a child star he became the most famous star in the world. Then he gained weight later in life and became addicted to pills and died at 42. Kate Bush said " I don't think we humans are built to withstand that kind of fame."
Given how she was manipulated, and the Level of manipulation exerted, nobody can blame Jennete McCurdy for the title of her memoir.
I’m not surprised Mary-Kate is on the list. My brother and I really liked her and Ashley when we were kids. I think we had a fantasy about what we thought their life was like.
Fame is a Gift and a curse true
I would've guessed Ashley over Mary-Kate. Ashley seemed to be the one having less fun, but Mary-Kate would defend her and had issues of her own.
If you haven’t read Jeanette’s book please check it out. I feel so bad for her
When I was younger I thought the people on the posters in my room were so lucky to be known and adored by millions and they got to travel the world and hang out with other famous people. As an adult I see how I was trippin
I read that people who were in the household said that when Miley Cyrus was the one who ruled the house because she made the most money, which is never good for a child. The Sweeten twins is a sad one considering one of them committed suicide after the show was over. Their parents said that as soon as that show, Everybody Loves Raymond, was done filming they would not allow any of their children to act again until they were adults because of the stress of it all. Their actual sister played their sister on the show as well.
