Fanfiction is a broad category. Writing a story about what if Captain America woke up 200 years into the future is pretty cool. But writing your weird fantasy about your romance with a celebrity who's never heard of you is cringeworthy.

Definitely makes me feel better about my war reenacting hobby. Still weird considering it involves wearing long wool pants, a heavy wool coat, pretending that it's 160 years ago on a military camp, and it's 90+ degrees outside with zero access to a shower for multiple days at a time.

Honestly fanfic writers are chill as a former wattpad kid I always found fics about real people and not characters weird and most people on their are like 12-18 so most people on there are children I never wrote fanfics I just ranted and posted it honestly wattpad is a fun place the comment sections are really funny cuz very few people are judgy on there so they just say their minds it’s definitely one of the least toxic platforms cuz nobody is going to interact with someone if they don’t like it cuz you have to search for what you wanna read

I think the fanficton one is a spectrum in of itself. Character x reader is a godless trope that has to die and real person x reader is straight to hell, but the majority of the rest of it is genuinely awesome storytelling fleshing out aspects of a character that the original author didn't have time to develop or bringing together two characters that work well together but could've never canonically hit it off, and I think thats an awesome hobby

6:38, as a writer who spends a shit ton of time working on my fanfiction smtimes, this is absolutely true. There is nothing I hate more than going on the site and seeing 'dream x male reader (dream SMP fanfic'. It makes me want to delete google docs and gauge my eyes out
