one of my favourite things about “birds of a feather” is i dont believe its actually a love song, not in the romantic way. in an interview with her and finneas she said finneas wanted to quit at one point during the album making. in her lyrics for birds of a feather she says “your so full of shit. tell me its a bit! say you dont see it, your mind’s polluted, SAY YOU WANNA QUIT, DONT BE STUPID!” i think this song is about finneas and her relationship and i think thats one of the most beautiful things about the song and makes me tear up every time i think about it.

the people that say THE GREATEST is boring don't appreciate the simple things in music. It is my favorite song in the album just based on the vulnerability and control she has in her voice to sound so whisper quiet and then to switch up the belt later? that build up was a masterclass in performance.
