@matt_313

Is there a link to the "Next video" you mentioned, where you incorporate this name federally?

@briansoper9035

Great presentation with lots of information.

@yesteryearr

Hey Eugene. Great videos!

I have a quick question regarding names being too similar. I don't want to reveal my business name but let's just says it's "Haybear". I want to make it just the one word (I will be using this name for selling on Amazon and selling through my own website, mostly clothing and other products). Is the name too simple too register?
PLUS I am doing the NUANS Business name search and I got an Exact match warning saying someone has the name ABADAY Haybear Productions INC. and I am wondering if that would categorize as "confusingly similar". Would I get in trouble for having ONE similar word to his long string of words? and it seems like "Productions" involves some sort of filmmaking... which my industry would not be. Should I add other words to differentiate (hoping to keep it as simple as possible.

Thanks!

Thanks for the video.
Quick Question:- How can i change the numbered federal incorporation to named federal incorporation ?
Thanks

@bboynitro

i have a question for sole proprietors, is it still available to do this and save the name, or can someone give me a short explanation?

@AnjaliPunni-r9c

I applied for a name pre approval and I was denied because the name appears to lack distinctiveness. any way around this?

The very first step in incorporating a Federal Corporation with a name is to perform a NUANS Search.
https://www.nuans.com/auth/app/scr/co...
In this video we will show you how to make the search, how to make it right and to what to pay your attention during the search and while reviewing its results.

The search process is simple and efficient, and the cost of a Federal NUANS report is just under $14. Please use the link below for your search.

While reviewing the results please pay attention to the following potential issues:

a. Do not use your proposed ending – Ltd., Inc., Corp., etc., use only the name
b. Any identical name will not be allowed for a registration;
c. Similarly looking names for companies in non-related businesses will most probably be permitted for the registration, but an explanation will be required to show that it does not cause a confusion between two companies.
d. Federal corporation is authorized to conduct business across Canada – so NUANS search will show the names of companies across the country.
e. Last pages of the NUANS search contain Trademark search – this is important to review the Trademarks as well since confusing company name will not be permitted.
f. Once you have NUANS report it reserves the name for a registration for 60 days, if the company is not incorporated within this period of time, the report will expire, and you will need a new report.

Please feel free to contact us at https://cbes.ca/contact-us for any questions or if you require our assistance with the search. All CBES clients get NUANS search included in the costs of incorporation!

Hey, i have put a name but that is matching with other company as i got letter from CRA. They want explanation. Can i change my name? If yes, how?

@alexandrefernandes8070

Amazing video.
I want to register a sole proprietorship with a business name. When I did a proposed name search I found that there is a business registered with same name, however that business status on the Govt website is "Dissolved for non-compliance". Can I use the same name since the existing business is dissolved?
Also I do not intend to use the exact name as the existing dissolved business, to illustrate it better, the dissolved business name, for instance, is "Abc Xyz Ltd" and my business name is "Abc" (as a sole prop, with intentions to incorporate if its profitable)

@TheSFactor3

Great series of videos. Had a quick question: how does one go about adding an operating/trade name to an existing numbered federal corporation?

@healthmann

I’m looking into starting an online business. It won’t be generating much income the first few years, so I’m trying not to incur too many costs. Federally registering a business does seem interesting, but I know very little about it. Can you tell me what the annual fees are to keep the business, any books that could benefit me, and the average cost to file my taxes when you are just starting out? Thank you for the content you share.

@lukelu2452

How long can I get the report after payment? I've been waiting for three days

@Sumaameen

Excellent video! Very knowledgable. Is there any way to check if our business name is used across other platforms? ie, domain names etc. Thanks

@brokenwires_

Are you able to use characters like "&" or "+" in your name when registering your corporate name?
i.e Water Melon & Design or Water Melon + Design

@georgepintilie8647
