I loved basic and even now it helps me understand how programs and apps work, it gave me a basic understanding. ZX81, VIC20 etc
I was a programmer using Basis Business Basic on the MAI Basic Four computer, a small mainframe that could support up to128 users. I coded for clients in nursing, insurance, overnight lending, distributorships and real estate management. I retired in 2001, but occasionally see posting for jobs and called BBX and BBJ Basic. I never used Basic on PCs the younger programmers I worked with did and that lead them to becoming programmers.
Awesome video man! Like to watch your videos while I’m working.
Old school coding remember with a glint in the eye, forget the slight issues, programing then trying to load the next day from a tape, getting the volume right. (beep feee beep) . That's after negotiating with siblings for use of the TV (which normally involved money) mine to them. Ha ha ha
For those new to the world of BASIC programming, then just be aware that the dialect shown here is really legacy. ie 80's.. However for those wanting a real glimpse of what it's like to learning programming on home computers was like in the 80's -- then you can find various emulators (Commodore 64 / c64 in particular) that run in the browser. Lots of frustrating fun to had :) -- and you'll likely learn more about how computer work than in anything else.
I had a old Sharp Digital diary. It had basic lang inbuilt, even had downloadable programs.
Man, another awesome video.
I do most of my Coding in Liberty basic, and have been for a few years. I still like to push it, and think out of the box and come up with unique ways to do tasks in Liberty, most of the commands are similar to Replit. but like you said each individual system has its own syntax. I started off in Apple basic in High school. "Class of 84" I also had a TI 99-4A at one time and a Basis-108 that could do a form of basic that was a Apple basic clone, and CPM I love, Sleep, dream and practically eat coding! 😍😀
Great video! Sorry I missed the live :( Happy Valentines Day! 💕
Another awesome live
Very helpful video
Not me learning this ancient language because I need it to pass an exam🙄
In describing the basic versions you forgot to mention BASIC A.
I don't see YaBasic. It came with Play Station 2. It's been emulated on PC. Great for writing tool like programs. It's best feature is the print and text screens.
i use chipmunk basic for my mac laptop and comodore basic for my ipad.
