You miss important thing: when AI hype dies down and tech debt created by vibe engineers catches up with products which were "built fast" (meaning it's basically fully consists of AI code nobody understands and crutches making it work), while number of juniors falls down dramatically because they thought AGI would take over all the jobs, those who remained in the field will have job insurance for the rest of their natural lives. Won't be a pretty job, but hey - money is money.

Alright. Time to become a mechanical engineer.

@YossiZinger

"Slack is like an MMO for engineers" - that's brilliant!

@Miliexy

This is the best summary of what devs should do. Learn, adapt and improve, AI isn't here to replace us yet, but it's a tool for us to deliver faster work. Decades ago, people who didn't adapt to computers got replaced by those who are willing to learn and improve.

@spacedoggo603

I don't know, I honestly don't believe in "vibe coders." A large legacy codebase still needs skilled people to maintain it, and I don't see AI enabling vibe coders to meaningfully contribute to big projects, aside from their vibe-coded, low-quality SaaS slop. At this point, it feels more like a marketing campaign pushed by AI-companies with entrepreneurial influencers than anything else.

@huh3

Man I'm trying to learn web dev and all of these feels so overwhelming. All I want is to someone with experience to tell me that it's still possible to have a career in this sector and it's not too late unironically. Believe it or not all these chaos is impacting all us newbies, who haven't got a job yet, really unmotivated.

Sometimes, you just want to stick to a specific stack and that's fine so you can be more productive but there are demands or changes

@hockeymikey

I hate this timeline.

@hendrx

I don't understand how y'all claim to be THIS productive with AI. My team barely gets 5% of useful syntax using Ai. The output is just bad

@Hillgrov

@funkynerd_com

Am I going crazy? Has this 10x lifestyle finally sent me over the edge? Didn't I watch this video a couple of days ago, even though YouTube says it was only posted 6 hours ago? Either the simulation in which I live has glitched, again, or this video had to be re-uploaded. Do tell!

@sudiptobose8296

as long as you... what ? as long as you what? complete the sentence dammit

@pajeetsingh

Script kiddies actually won.
