i don’t think i’ve ever seen japanese drag racing in my whole life.. this is nice
The interview at 21-22 mins on was great. hearing about how he started racing at 18, his mum taking over the business after his dad passed away and now driving his dads car, what a legend!
Guys, seriously, this is one of the best videos you guys have done. EVERYTHING was on point. Good context, reverence, and respect shown in the beginning. Perfect amount of footage, commentary, music, racing, interviews. And of course the editing to put it all together. If you're a car or racing enthusiast of any kind, this video has something for you. VERY well done guys.
Their drag cars are so traditional, even you guys said it they just sound different. The Macchina R33 and the other ones even has analog gauges and it's modern day FAST! I love it !
Man this takes me back to the early 2000s. This drag racing scene influenced my life when I was 17-18 years old watching these cars, buying my own Silvia, sticking a massive turbo on it and learning everything as I went. Back then I was building cars for money, working a regular job, and going to university. If it wasnt for this scene and working in cars I never would have developed my curiosity and troubleshooting skills, which ended up landing me a great career in IT which has served me well into adulthood. Thanks TRC for this video and bringing me back to those days before kids and family life took over.
The car with the CROYDON plate was a New Zealand import OG legend. Went 8.55 in 2003 and was the fastest DOT tyre GTR in the world
I have been following Drag racing in Japan since the 90's and the Drag Festival at Central circuit. Seeing this video is refreshing to see more exposure and hopefully encourage more to get into Drag racing in Japan. The in car videos and interviews are good! Would love to see more of the times and trap speeds.
Wow that RX7 20b sounds like a mad F-1 🔥 🚀
Well done guys! Love all of your work but this is really fantastic. Thank you!
Run that back!! Japanese drag racing and circuit was the reason why I fell I Love with Jdm.
I lived on Okinawa for 5 years. I never got to make it to this track. But was a member of the Zeroyon Forum from 2005-2012. We raced in the streets and the track. This takes me back! Seeing you guys here is absolutely amazing, I miss the car scene in Japan and I'm happy it's still alive.
Cool to see an event overseas like this 👍
I'm speechless.. 3rotor with 6 speed close ratio transmission flying straight like an arrow. That's a gem. Touches 220km/h in 400metre..
That video at 1:37 wow I remember i was like 13 yrs old downloading those crazy gtrs wow what a moment
This is very unique. That Suzuki carry truck swapped motorbike engine 🔥
29:56 the 67/68 mustang casually in the back
I used to go home from school and watch those videos religiously. Especially the one that had all of the GTR monsters street racing. Anybody remember the Exvitermini GTR?
