@shae482

Super underrated player and the reason i started playing Guitar. Always a pleasure hearing him live! Definitely hope to meet him someday!

@carlosalbertomunozgiron6089

one of the most underrated country & melodic bands of all times, sick of a interview man

@ramsonk

WHAAAAATTTTT THIS IS CRAZY!!!!! life is a highway on Cars is probably the first time i noticed the sound of an electric guitar as a child. Cars was my entire childhood and I'm so glad to see this video thanks vertex and mason‼️🛐🛐🛐

@allenmitchell09

I guess I’m a rascal flats fan now lol. How could you not be after watching this incredible interview.

@ColeHuddlestun

It was pure joy watching this. Love seeing the layers of JDR peeled back and to see his joy talking about his bandmates...inspiring. Watching Mason's pure joy during this just shows his authenticity and appreciation for music and artistry. These interviews are a gift to us all.

@robelinda

Incredible. On a human level this is beyond.

@bigdavedave9865

What a great interview. I love the flatts and Joe Don seems such a cool guy. I got goose bumps when he told the story of the harmonies ❤️🙏👌😎

@TalThomas-ve8bn

Insanely good. Absolute shame these guys aren’t continuing. Massive respect for JDR and his approach and humbleness. Even for a non country fan, these are massive hits.

@SticksAandstonesBozo

I don’t care what anyone says. I had a toddler when cars came out. That song holds a massive part of my soul for life now.

@pilotmatt293

I’ve been waiting for this for 15 years.

@Charlies_Outdoors

Great interview and a fantastic individual. Seem’s very down to earth and humble, but extremely talented.

@kodyoliva8183

Those 00s country acts that came outta Nashville were full of incredible musicians

@livclaire5997

Joe Don is such an inspiration. I saw Rascal Flatts in concert on their last tour, and it was amazing!

@TheDryes

Wow….loving this. Such iconic parts that defines classic

@BadBackZach

Watched the whole thing. This may be my favorite episode yet. Thank you for making these.

@ifgwelf

The family reunion story really hits home. My mom came from a big poor country family of 9 kids. Every family reunion would eventually end up with us all around the piano or on the porch playing different instruments. Every one singing. We still get together every other year even though the old family homestead in the country burnt down.

@jimmyoandrhondalee7431

I can see he has developed the skill of a session player while working with Huff. Clean patient Playing in the right spots that make sense and a great feel.. Bravo. Thanks Vertex.. I try to catch all of your interviews. Listening to the studio mix on Banjo the way the guitars were placed, the background vocal incidental parts and everything just is just there. (3 dimensional) . What a beautiful song . The mix is outstanding. I would definitely use that mix as a comparison when mixing this style. Wow. Gonna have to cover this one.... Never knew about his Alcohol problem God Bless him.. Gonna be praying for him because honestly dealing with that is more important than any song, and I know he understands that. Praying

@ethanstewart2327

This guy changed my life in the early to mid 00's with the solo on What hurts the most. It was a literal game changer in my guitar playing and when I found out he played it on a Les Paul all bets were off. I'm still rippin a les paul in country bands.

@MichaelVanceMusic

Joe has always been one of my favorite players. Tasteful and to the point. Always playing for the song ❤
