@WyMustIGo

I've been a programmer by trade since the early 80s (started on 8 bit computers), and now that I am retired I decided to make some games as a hobby. I've worked on commercial games before but we always had a team of artists, and now that it is just me, I am faced with the challenge that you went through. I can program in any language from assembly, to C, C++, C# etc, but I am terrible at art. Your video is VERY GOOD at providing suggestions for people in our situation. Well done!

PS: One of the applications I worked on as a programmer in the 90s was, believe it or not, Adobe Photoshop. Kind of ironic that I can not create art, but helped develop applications artists use. LOL

@Chezt

Thank you for this video!
I have many mistake like you said in the video, like procrastinate waiting for art and just realized it actually a problem
this make me evaluate my current method

@hergggoor

It took me 26 min to realise what kind of "Deck" you were talking about. But great video. I strugled as well with how much time and effort I should invest into learning art, instead of focusing on actually prototyping the game I want to make

@Lavashyk

As the one, who struggles with art, I was surprised how easy it was for me to draw something in Aseprite. I am not sure If I am not that bad or the tool is that awesome that anybody can draw. Perhaps both! :D

@zn4niye

Hahaha, I had sent you a message on Discord about something related to this, and you post a video right at that moment :o

@vapandris

Such a useful video.
Thanks for all your content they are all amazing!

@PawnxPawn

My artist always end up just vanishing. After an asset or two. 7:19

@rasulseidagul

Why did you create different sprite tiles of the same button? when you could one have 1 fully white tile set and then when drawing buttons - pass color into the button shader as part of the vertex/instance/shader data.

@choucheneyoussef3281

so do i have to like texture stuff after i do the shape and happy with it or just color it if it communicates my needs? cuz u have textured sprites and not textured ones thats why im confused great video tho really helped

@TheDutchChannel

great stuff

@cheekyrabbit

What if you're an artist with no programming skills, and want to make a game?
