Der Vergleich hinkt etwas: * Der BMW ist ab 150 km/h schneller. * Der Tesla beschleunigt von 0-150 km/h deutlich schneller. * Ein BMW M4 kostet rund 100.000 Euro, in Österreich sogar um die 120.000 Euro, während das Tesla Model 3 Performance weniger als 60.000 Euro kostet. Keine Frage, der M4 ist insgesamt das überlegene Auto. Aber der Abstand zwischen diesen Fahrzeugen schrumpft zusehends, und genau das sollte uns in Europa zu denken geben. In Sachen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis (Kaufpreis & Unterhaltskosten) liegt Tesla klar vorne. Wenn man schon in dieser Preisklasse vergleicht, sollte man besser das Model S Plaid heranziehen – und das würde das Bild komplett verändern. Die Ignoranz, die manche hier an den Tag legen, und das Verkennen, wie gut amerikanische und mittlerweile auch chinesische Autos geworden sind und wie schnell sie aufholen, haben die europäische und vor allem die deutsche Autoindustrie in ernsthafte Schwierigkeiten gebracht. Elektromobilität ist die Zukunft, ob wir das wollen oder nicht, und unsere heiß geliebten deutschen Autohersteller haben hier enormen Aufholbedarf. Ich hoffe, dass sie es schaffen, wieder leistbare Autos auf Spitzenniveau zu bauen. Derzeit können sie das nicht – andere machen es deutlich besser.

For the record, this is a Gen1 Model 3 Performance (I can tell by the piano black on the console). The M4 is probably the same age (2018-2020) As someone who has owned all of the Model 3's- the old Performance model had excellent punch to 60, but then peters out due to consistent power reduction. The 2022-24 Model 3 Performance had a slightly better power curve, but did not offer the same punch off the line. The Gen2 Model 3 Performance (2025+) would easily walk this M4. The new one can hoon better than the new M3 Comp and can out accelerate it, but still cannot hold up in an extended track battle due to battery thermal management limitations.

I don't belive this. I have a 2019 E63 wagon, and while the BMW would never catch me, I have been beaten off the line by a few Teslas. We never had the chance to hit top speed so I don't know if I could have overtaken them, but those Teslas are damn fast.....faster than my wagon.
