The fact that Fury deflected a shot to the side all because of LOGS
The most unrealistic part of the movie Fury is the fact that a Sherman M4A3E8 with the US 76mm gun wasn’t able to punch a whole straight through the upper front plate of that Tiger from the range that they spotted it at. The 76mm was absolutely able to penetrate the Tiger’s armor flat on like it was in the movie.
The most unrealist thing is the tigers target selection fury was the only tank that could pen it and should of been shot first and it closed distance when it has an advantage at range. His point is also correct the tigers were mainly deployed in the east due to flat terrain. Not due to it being a defensive front. The germans were on defense in the east post Stalingrad which was in 1942
The most unrealistic part was the amount of tracer rounds used at the end, made it look like Star Wars
I laughed so hard, I almost joined the Axis for a sequel!
What got me was the SS battalion was shown with a bunch of panzerfaust's shouldered when marching, but only seemed to have a few to use
The most innacurate part was the tigers transmission not ripping itself apart after traveling half a meter
Especially considering that the British and Canadians had drawn the bulk of the Panzer divisions into their trap at Caen and destroyed them
the most unrealistic part is the fact that the shermans with the long 76 didnt even manage to pen the tiger’s frontal plate
Don't forget the storm troopers in the movie had aim similar to storm troopers in Star Wars.
If that’s the most unrealistic part then it must be a damn good movie
As well as the tiger not targeting the lead vehicle in a convoy (also the deadliest tank of the 4), coming out of cover when they smoke the hedgeline when the tiger should have relocated and kept sniping the shermans, and when fury gets close to the tiger it sits there tryjnv to turn its tirret instead of turning the wntire vehicle, a real technique used to make the turret traverse speed faster
Most unrealistic part of the Tiger fight scene is the following. Tiger tank commanders would be taught to take out Fury first based on the gun it had. Second the Tiger tank should’ve taken the first tank in the column anyway then the last. Then we have the scene where the Americans all charge the Tiger and it decides to charge at them. When in reality it would stay in his position and pick them off on approach. Then we have the fact that fury bounces a shell off its side from a Tiger. It would have gone right through the side ending the fight. Also the tigers loader speed goes from realistic speed to down right snails pace for some reason. Tigers weren’t common on the western front that is true.. if they were they would’ve more then likely had supporting units not just a single tiger..
3 fundemental things that botheted me in that fight 1 the tiger moves out of concealment, 2 the tiger doesnt use german tactics like shooting the first tank and last tank in the colum and then the biggest threath, 3 fury could take it out from that distance but instead of a stable aim they decide to suicide charge. In the end the outcome would be similair and thats what they tried to portray 1 german tank equals 3/4 us tanks its the fifth one that gets the job done
The cast were probably 20 years older than the real veterans also.
also they show the interior of the tanks bigger than how they actually are. I used to work at a facility where they manufacture battle tanks. So I know.
They encountered anti tank guns in the movie and then decided to head on charge them.
The unrealistic part or parts are that they fought against only one tiger tank and only one 88mm gun without any infantry And the last scene is just ridiculous. When you look at the losses, you can see that the German Wehrmacht was very good and not as bad as Hollywood likes to portray it.
Just watched it for the first time a few days ago, pretty dang fun movie . Really shows the transition of a man into a warrior
