I recently went through recruiting for S&T and secured an offer with a bulge bracket bank. Coming from a non-target school, I would say the biggest factor for my success was getting into a wall street developmental program in my school early on. Getting involved on campus, posting strong grades and extracurriculars, knowing your markets, and knowing your story are crucial! Great video, more freshman finance majors should be shown this on day 1 of college.

I’m a capitalist. But if you work 120 hours a week, you’re literally living just to work for someone. Like as soon as you go home you’re in bed just to get enough sleep to keep you going, then as soon as you wake up you’re away again.

@akp167

So many students needed this. Keep up the good work

@robertmarchant8026

This is an incredible video and provides a lot of insights especially for the younger crowd. Jobs nowadays can be very competitive and with this knowledge, hopefully this can help direct a lot of people. A tip I would advise people is to not rely on the plan solely they have laid out for themselves because remember life throws curve balls at you and we have to be able to adapt!

@kevinmathis3645

super informative! Why does this video have such little views?

@anonymousJAN2024

From a guy who started my career at two tier 1 investment banks and then moved into private equity, this guy has the best industry intro I have seen on Youtube so far. Just continue to build your pipeline of opportunities and don’t give up.

@jayliherable

Contracted right out of college as a credit analyst, then became a treasury analyst 6 months after and now a year later, found a job as a Financial Analyst. Hopefully I can reach the buy side soon.

@dc9631

I didn't have an opportunity to go to college. I used the stepping stone path, behind the scenes. I'm 37 and have a senior management role. You can do ANY thing you want...make a plan, stick to it....

@samanthabanya1349

this ideo was so informative!! petition to have this shown in all high schools?

@melodyflores557

This is exactly the video I didn’t know I needed to watch. Thank you for the breakdown.

@ryanmontalbano6423

Great video, wish it was available when I was a freshman or sophomore in college. Another thing for students to consider, you don't need to start off in New York to be making this type of money. You'll likely be compensated close to your peers in NYC, if not the same, and your $100k/yr will go a lot further in cities such as Dallas, Houston, Charlotte which is great if you carry a large debt load. Plus, those cities typically aren't quite as competitive for spots and can lead to roles in cities such as New York or San Francisco after a year or two. For those of you that are either late to the game or not gaining any traction with roles in New York, this is a very viable path as well.

@annceiq

So helpful... I’m only 17 and there was nothing like this video anywhere. Thankyou!

@1waycam

I’m apart of that stepping stone community. This video is still appreciated 5 years down the road.😂 I was down on myself but really excited to get things going now!

@mattu5888

I like the structure/framework, but this is the most optimistic video ever... Reduce all salaries and increase all GPA by 20% and it fits lol

@callmekelly9514

I'm definitely in the the stepping stone route. I don't go to a well known university and I'm already in my senior year. Pretty much all I have is my GPA lol

@DouglasLee9

Clearest explanation about the Ibanking paths I have ever seen. Great job.

@henryvillarreal2789

I was once told by a retired professor that grades,transcripts, and diploma expires like a driver’s license after seven to ten years it becomes old and your life experience , traits and bad habits become part of your molding what is known as work experience it’s a hard Knox life

@fnihp30

Big banks such as Chase & Citi have Commercial Banking groups as well. Commercial Banking groups don't just exist in smaller financial institutions.

@thebryceisright4851

Kids. Quit worrying about the GPA and learn how to do the work, and develop relationships. As someone who has worked in both private and public accounting and finance, we don't care if you used chegg for 4 years and graduated top of the class. Learn how numbers work, and you'll be just fine.
