I think an honorable mention would be the one time that Dick Winters visited the set only to immediately leave and never return again. It is said that a group of actors in full make up and costume were in the back of a covered military truck. Winters went to go visit them and up upon opening the flap he looked at everyone inside the truck and his face went white. He later explained that when he looked at all the actors they looked so much like any of the actual soldiers that it reminded him so much of friends he had lost that he was overwhelmed and shocked and never wanted to visit the filming of the show again. I think that is the most heartbreaking anecdote of the series.

@WARMEMORIES1

No matter how many times you rewatch Band of Brothers, there’s always something new — a subtle gesture, a real veteran’s cameo, or a moment of raw authenticity that hits harder than the last.
This isn’t just a miniseries — it’s a living tribute to the courage, trauma, and brotherhood that shaped history.
Thank you for keeping these hidden details alive.

@diverhose

I have seen the series so many times and never seen Tom Hanks in the back ground, wow! Thank you!

@bambinoveira

Finally, a video that lives up to its title and doesn't sell smoke.

@Ghayes2331

Band of Brothers is probably the best series ever done about WW2. I've read books written by some of the men of Easy Company. Excellent reading and confirms much of the series. Thank you too the men of Easy company and all WW2 veterans for your service and sacrifice. You truly are the greatest generation.

@richardchisholm2073

There is another scene in one of the final episodes in which one of the Company soldiers pulls his .45 pistol on a baker. The pistol is actually a late model .45 with white dot sights. That is a ‘don’t blink’ shot. Glad to see this wasn’t a clickbait video.

@stephenrose4582

Not only was Shifty Powers seriously injured on his trip home, while he was in the hospital he was robbed of all of his pay and all of the souvenirs he accrued during his service.

@28russ

I was astounded by how much the actors actually looked like the soldiers they were portraying. And they were all great actors. Great casting!!😲

@jeffbeaver4419

i have the book Hang Tough. I paid extra to have a book plate included that was signed by Brad Freeman,the last surviving enlisted man from Easy. He passed away within the past couple of years.

@Bogie0315

Very well done, all of the things you pointed out were very interesting not just filler. Thank You for a great video, I enjoyed it very much.

@MrAndyBearJr

My older brother was in the 82nd Airborne (All American) when he served in the army in the early 70's. He brought home an LP record with all the hit songs about paratroopers. Blood Upon the Risers was the most memorable, but a couple of others were worth note. Beautiful Streamer (sung to the tune Beautiful Dreamer) a song of an unfortunate trooper pleading for his parachute to open, and Down From Heaven (11th Airborne Theme Song), finally, We're All American (82nd Airborne Theme song). I remember listening to this record over and over as a kid, and my mom crying when she first heard Blood Upon the Risers.

@BarkBarkImShark

Since everyone is throwing their hidden details in, I'll add one that I noticed! In episodes 1, 3, and 4 members of Easy Company can be seen using the M1 Bazooka, which was adopted in 1942. However, in episode 10, a paratrooper can be seen using the M9 Bazooka, which by then had replaced the M1.

@Splooge182

Thank you for actually providing some legit info I didn’t notice or missed.

@TheEvertw

I knew 2 out of 10, excellent video!
I knew about blacking your sights and about the faked lottery for Shifty.
I love how faithful the writers & producers were to the lives of these men. Probably the best dramatized series about the war so far.

@brianjacobsen-n2s

best EVER series ever! ANYTIME, ANYWERE!!

@chrisclark5204

Being an Army Veteran, I knew about Blood on the Risers and using a lighter to char the sights on a rifle. Also when using blanks in a semi automatic rifle such as an M1, you have to cap or plug the barrel in order for the gas from a cartridge to cycle the action.

@stevekight1955

Late night host Jimmy Fallon was the Lt. that drove the jeep that brought the ammo before they went to Bastogne.

@slvsfr

I was in Civil Air Patrol. One of our marching "tunes" was "Glory, glory, what a hell of a way to die." @ 13:10 I was reminded.

@nadrazakcz7858

Awesome details, thanks for sharing 🙂 Not sure why, but I almost cried when I noticed Babe Heffron's cameo...never noticed him there...

@peterkallend5012

I immediately knew it was a sight unit. I had already been a mortarman in the army for a few years when this series came out. They haven't changed much. I always liked the attention to detail.
