Im Japanese, lived and worked in UK, US, China etc. A lot of things that you feel or say, is quite similar to what a first time Japanese tourist would say in a western country. Except that the content is mostly reverse.

Be mindful that nobody talks or eat inside the train... if you want to talk please do it in lower voice. It's not rule but a social manner and conduct in the japanese society. Stay safe

Japanese culture places a high value on politeness and avoiding causing discomfort to others. As a result, we tend to keep our emotions more private, avoiding conflict or confrontation, especially in public spaces. On the other hand, English culture is completely opposite. You guys are more individualistic and express your feelings openly, whether positive or even negative. This is something I still struggle with, even though I've been here for more than 20 years.... Enjoy your time there!

Hello. I'm enjoying watching your videos. I'm Japanese, but please don't mind the negative comments. It's natural that cultures are different between Japan and other countries. I'm currently traveling in Europe, and although I sometimes struggle with cultural differences, they're also exciting and fun. I'm going to London for the first time from tomorrow!

Hi! Oli :) I'm Japanese and have been living in London for a long time. I really feel empathy for your reaction and also the reactions of many Japanese on your comments page haha. I enjoyed your video. What I want to tell you (I hope this will help you a little), Japanese don't request perfect understanding or behaviour , just want you to try to understand more deeply without quick judgment and we just want you to enjoy your days in Japan. We Japanese tend to have high pride about our quality and manner so I think we just keen to keep the quality. And want tourists to be satisfied about Japanese trips, so some comments complain about you just come from frustrating that you cannot enjoy fully. If you visit again, I highly recommend that you travel with some Japanese who speak English and have lived in Japan for a long time. They will welcome to explain the background of the culture and manners and show you the local deep spots. Or in London you will be able to find Japan-UK community, so you can enjoy to deep your viewing. We are happy that you enjoy your trip more and more :)
