@ScopeofScience

I closed the comment section on this video, since I'm seeing exactly the sort of hate comments that I denounce in the video. This is why you can't have nice things, dear internet. Sorry!

@Mozart13331

That Jupiter painting is dope

@zentouro

books ARE awesome.

and thanks for the shout out!

On solutions point number 3, I like this one a lot. I find it's better to converse, than to debate. When I talk with people about pretty much anything, I try to suspend belief while they explain things. Even if it's something I think I know, like Earth being round, how do I really know that? I've been wrong about so many things before that I felt I had over 99% confidence in. I'm not immune to believing wrong ideas. I guess what helps here is, having been wrong so many times, I'm not scared of finding out that I'm wrong again, it means I have a chance to throw away a belief that doesn't match reality. That's a cause for celebration!

@theajayyy

I feel this isn't just for misinformation. This same recommendation "rabbit-hole" is what got me into programming, engineering and science. It's really amazing how it works. You see one video that has a bit of science information and get a glimpse. Soon, YouTube starts recommending more in depth stuff and you get "converted" to enjoying science, engineering or whatever other topic.

It's pretty interesting how there are negatives and positives to this system. Without the YouTube algorithms, I don't think I would be the same person I am today.

@rotflmaopmpqxyz

Lol at the auto play comment at the end. As soon as you stopped talking, a preview for auto play for Vsauce’s video was next- “Is earth actually flat?”

@OLBICHL

critical thinking should be one of the absolute minimum skill sets that you learn right from the beginning... that skill would serve as a proper base for a solid knowledge and education and should help you filter lies from factual information.

@Alex-cw3rz

When Eratosthenes around 200bc calculated the size of the earth, it's embarrassing it's still a conversation

@Kae6502

Tell me that standing in front of a flat Jupiter painting was a deliberate choice! :) Love the painting btw.

@JMPGX

That painting of Jupiter looks really cool, lucky!

@najrenchelf2751

The subbox is so underrated, that’s basically the only thing I use... collabs are what expand my subbox!

@joshuaham1022

Autoplay is the worst and dumbest thing ever created.

@WildPhotoShooter

I don't watch ANY adverts on YouTube , I click them off immediately. They're annoying !

@JeremySmith-wc4lh

Love how you support other scientific creators like Zentoro!
(Still waiting for your documentary, but no rush)
Edit: I like Climate Adam

@juanitopl

This is some interesting and fulfilling content my friend! I liked how you added 5 possible solutions and didn´t just ended your messege on the critic. cheers!

@lactobacillusprime

Excellent explanation on how 'the algorithms' from social media platforms create filter bubbles for each and every one of us. Even human interaction is filtered. Another example why corporate strategies of scraping together money often end up not being beneficial to people. We created social media and just started using them - education on how to use social media properly seems necessary.

@rizonzzz9986

Math powerland was one of the pioneers of fe he basically was the start

@tinfoilhatsarethenewblack8788

50% said they had doubts for the meme

@CyrilDupuy

Thank you for your encouragement to be kind to people who fell into conspiracy theories. In the end, love is the most important thing, and maybe the only way to help them reconsider their views with critical thinking...

@haserpl2367

I highly recommend a youtube mini-series called "flat earth - serious analysis" made by SciFun who is one of the more known polish science Youtuber. It's very popular in here (a little bit sarcastic) and it was shown even in high schools to students :D. It has English subtitles so no worries, you're gonna understand everything.
