Remember that someone was visiting in Dubai and got injured and hospitalized. During checkup they took a blood test and it can back positive for weed which was smoked a few weeks before in a legal state in America. The person is currently in jail and sentenced to a few decades. If you smoked weed in the past month or however long will show up on a blood test do not go to a hospital unless your literally dying in Dubai or you will be thrown in jail. Very scary. To punish someone for something they did somewhere else where it was fully legal is insane.

Key points about potential negatives in Dubai:
Weather: Scorching summers can be uncomfortable for many people.
Cost of living: Housing and other expenses can be very high.
Social restrictions: Strict dress codes and limitations on public displays of affection.
Residency challenges: Getting permanent residency can be difficult for non-nationals.
Traffic congestion: Commuting can be frustrating due to heavy traffic.
Cultural adaptation: Adjusting to local customs and traditions can be challenging for expats.
Transient community: High turnover in the expat population can make building lasting relationships difficult.
Limited personal freedoms: Certain activities and behaviors may be restricted due to local laws.
Visa concerns: Maintaining proper visa status can be a concern for foreigners.
Potential for isolation: Expats may feel disconnected from the local community if they don't actively integrate.

Dubai is a place you go visit once. Unless you’re an escort.

First make it safe for foreign workers... Your employers takes away workers passport and force them to work overtime... They can't even come back without passport if they want to

@piotr5830

I live here and the most difficult bit for me is the loneliness - for 2y of working in the financial district I have never met a local. Only other english, german, american etc. immigrants. Emirati just do not exist outside of shops im my world. Its a shame, I will never learn anything about those people, even after 2 or 3 years in the middle east.
