Bro you look like Ranveer Singh when you beard 🧔

@hartvenus

Idk if I agree with the mac, but def Unix over windows based anyday

Also, while I do agree that starting to implement AI tools is important, I would avise at least getting fundamentals right on algorithms before you try to dive first on every proyect using gpt, since for your first 6 months or so it’s really important for you to get used to researching, troubleshooting and problem solving and those skills are hindered when all you know is copy and pasting

@umzyayaz

Bro love the beard it really suits you

@ben_wurster

Also command line is huge

@nohope0105

Whether it's good or not depends on their operating system, the only thing that forces them to run on a certain operating system is the compatibility of surrounding applications and their own applications. I am a software engineer and I am comfortable using Windows, Linux, and MacOS, for me there is almost no difference except the way of use and interface.

I don't fully agree on the MacBook point. While I majored Computer Science I used an Thinkpad with Arch Linux (and I tried some other distros) and I admit, that I sometimes procrastinated with it - but I learned a lot. Now I am majoring in Math and I am using a Mac now because I cant procrastinate in that way with it. And I see the point, that when you have every week 3 appointments you should not procrastinate by improving you operating system - but at some point you should do that to learn things, that you are not learning at the university.
I think, when you have some arch experience an MacBook with Silicon chip works well, since Asahi Linux exists.
