When a neuroscientist says more empathy is what society needs most today, you listen... Everyone is too self focused; and of course, when you only think about your problems, they become huge and anxiety inducing. Just be kinder, truly listen, give your mom a hand. Just look a little beyond yourself. Breathing and exercise do wonders, but it's empathy that really reframes your mind.
I do the breathing exercises almost daily and helps a lot , the gym is another life saver
1. Deeep breathe 2. Move your body with positive affirmations 3. Empathy ❤
Breathe, Move and Take note of what anxiety is signalling - This is the most powerful and beautiful takeway I have had since longest time. Thank you !
Being told you need to breathe, is the biggest slap in the face I've received.... over and over again. Everyone acts like no one's heard this one b4.
❤ No coffee helped me a lot, too. And I think it's worth mentioning that these tips cannot replace therapy when needed.
The "move your body" is so, so true. If you think about it, what else can you do when you heart suddenly starts beating super fast? Make it beat faster. Do push-ups, go running, anything to move your body. When I get caught off guard, that's what's been working for me
i’ve had anxiety since i was a small child, and i can definitely confirm that it has caused me to be more empathetic.
This is true! The moment I get up and stretch and move away from my desk I feel better. It also helps release tension in my muscles.
I love this woman. I watched her TED talk years ago about physical movement and it’s a great one.
I love how Dr. Suzuki talks. Undoubtedly the contents of the talks are great but I feel instantly better just listening to her because of her enthusiasm and energy. Thanks, Dr. Suzuki!
Wendy Susuki and Amanda Burden are my favorite speakers on TED. Their enthusiastic research is enlightening, but surprisingly healthy and accessible.
I really wish more people would look up calming herbs and excersise and breathe... the whole world is anxious and everybody wants a convenient fix that doesn't require THEM to do the work for themselves. I am so grateful for people like this.
I love this woman! Her voice and speaking presence. Super cool human
I was 0:49 0:49diagnosed with PTSD in 95. I’ve had a stroke and a kidney transplant in 2020. I work at a level 1 trauma center direct patient care. Over the last several years I’ve literally become afraid of going to work and help treating patients. I tried to see a psychiatrist but with constant changes in my schedule I couldn’t keep appointments. I’m hoping to find some online therapy.
I was anxious and landed up in this video. By the time I finished watching, especially her gestures and body movements, really helped me calm down. Thank you <3
I just bought Healthy Brain, Happy Life. Thanks for your grounded insights Dr. Suzuki. Cheers from 🇨🇦
The fact that WE created a society where such high levels are so common and most of which is caused by school and work, is ridiculous
It is amazing! We need School lectures like that! Thank you Upwork, a lot of useful tips, sometimes people pay for $400 bucks and do not get the tools mentioned. Thank you Upwork!
