Audio is essential, getting the audio right is huge for a video to be enjoyable. I don't remember where I read this but the 'tolerance' for bad visuals is huge versus bad audio, down to your ears are just better at picking up errors than your eyes.

my best advice is to run it as if you will only ever do it as a passion. run it expecting to NEVER make a single penny, EVER. if you do that, and live life, and genuinely enjoy it an audience will find you.

You can’t just go out and get a Shure SM7B and call it. My kids watch a YouTuber who has THAT MIC and it’s so poorly balanced I can’t watch the guy. I know the guy makes too much money for his sound to be that bad, but he won’t take the time for sound.
